How is everyone with presentations? I have always been terrible at it. My DW Traci is great at presentations and hosting seminars. Now we humor ourselves at home with a little play acting along with our read-alouds. We have allways wondered how our DC would do in front of an audience. The field trip group that we are joined with now gave us this opportunity. Once a month they have a oral book presentation. They do an oral report on a book they are reading or a subject matter of their choice. I am impressed with the different mediums or ways they bring out their reports.
All the DC were a little nervous at first, but now they are doing great. I have seen poster boards, home made picture books, clip art with oral reports, and library books with oral reports. These presentations have helped the DC tremendously. They do a fantastic job with the timing and expression of their work before an audience.
Field trips, park days, and home visitations are a great way for homeschoolers to meet and make friends. Support your local HSing groups.

Hi everybody! I'm back online after a computer crash. I hope you are off to a good start with your HSing. We're having a good time with ours. This year we are using a lot of TV docamentries and books in our curriculum. It's amazing how much our DC have learned this way. They love it to. They are tested verbally and oraly on the books and programs. We make our own worksheets and test.
We just went on our first field trip for the year. We went to a local farm to learn of farm life, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, etc. About what they eat and how it afects their bodies, their health, the taste of their milk. They had a garden and gave a contest to see who could find something red or orange. There were carrots, tomatoes, and other veggies. Then they got to keep what they found. It was fun watching the children and a great way for a lot of the HSing Moms and Dads to get together and mingle.
Got to go! So have fun in your HSing today. Pray and don't let the devil have his way!

Hey everybody!!!
If you are wondering why you haven't seen a new post or recieved comments from me there's a very good reason. My DW is legally blind with very low vision with tunnel vision in one eye in the day & none at night in the dark for those who do not know. So she has been dependent upon myself & others for quite a while.
I use to read all of your blogs to her, read books to her, tell her the color of her clothes, etc. Now I have grow accustom & love doing these things for her. It seems that it draws our family closer together. Our DC have taken there part in reading since they have learned to read. But thanks to modern technology this privaledge has been slowly taken away from us (TEARS)
Now we have to watch as my DW uses her CCTV to read books, mail, etc. (it changes the color contrast & makes letters super big).
The latest gaget is a "ZOOMTEXT" reader & magnafication program. So now it reads the HSing blogs & everything else on her computer (not fair, BooWho...more tears) without me.
It use to be me hogging up the computer all the time as my DC put it, but now it's my DW. I'm so very happy for her, but lost without words. what do I do now? I've got to much time on my hand now. Please pray for me as I adjust to our new way of life.
YIPPEE!!!!
I just got my copy of Donna Dawson's novel "REDEEMED" & can't wait to use some of my free time now to sit back & get really deeply involved in this book! As soon as I finish it I'll do a short review for everyone.
Now finally to our HSing days! We worked so hard the first few years that this year is a breeze, so we've have a fairly easy year. We just got a report that in the area where we go nature walking close by our house they have spotted a very large Black Bear standing up in the ditch by the road (YIKES). So we decided to stay away from there for a while.
I just love HSing don't you? How I wished many times that I was HSed being that I was so very, very bashful in my youth. The more I hear about the going ons of public school the more I'm grateful to God for leading us this direction for our DC. I know there are many difficult days with HSing your DC, but the rewards of obeying God's will by far outweighs the bad days!!! It's a dedicated cause & you must be dedicated to finish the work God has given you! DON'T GIVE UP!!!! That's my outcry to all HSers everywhere! I'm praying & interseding for you to make it!
Glory to God! He's worth it!
