No Burden For The Children

      Mark 10:13,14

13~And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

14~But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

In my area I have seen many DC taught by the streets of this world. DC that are pushed to the side & neglected by their parents who are prositutes, drug addicts, drunks, etc. I found out that we can make a difference if we try. We welcome anybody and everybody in our church and I'm so glad because I know where I was at when Jesus found me! He was willing to bring me up out of the miry clay, out of the hog pen of sin and saved me. So how can I turn my back on any of these? I know what He did for me, He can and will do for them.

I get so tired of hearing hippocrites say mean and discouraging remarks to them and causing some to go back out into the streets. We have started a youth fellowship once a month so we can encourage our youth and show them that we care and are here anytime for them. It's great!

What's this got to do with HSing? He said; to train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Prov 22:6. He didn't say this had to just be your child. So we are to share the Gospel of Christ and teach all that we can about Him and the Heavenly plan He has for us.

So I'm going to teach my DC, the fatherless, motherless, no parents, mean, ugly, unwanted, lonely, and brokenhearted DC all about  Bible Math~JESUS + YOU - sin = ETERNAL LIFE !!!

It all adds up when you do it His way. Remember the DC in the neighborhood or who ever God brings to you or you to them.

Teach, Teach, Teach with love, as He was a teacher so are we.

Homeschooling is Everywhere, Anytime!

Whens the best time to homeschool? When the time is right.  When my DC hear a certain name or location they quickly run and get the dictionary, or history, science, geography book and then suddenly we're schooling again!

Now we do have a school schedule that we keep, most of the time. Of course I'm talking about after school hours. My DC may see a bird or lizard, etc. and run to get their notebooks to draw pictures and put an entry in them. We take advantage of each time they want to do a little schooling and sometimes we apply it to their daily schedule. It works! It's so much better for our DC when they find out the subjects they are learning are applied and used in their daily life.

We show how math and the other subjects are used in cooking, sewing, shopping, paying bills, etc. and have fun while they are learning.

So the next time you go shopping let your little darling write your grocery list while you dictate it and check for correct spelling and neatness. Let them have a little money to make their own purchase and count their money themselves, pay and recieve the change and let them check to make sure it's correct. Teach them how to read labels on items and notice the weights and capacities. comparative pricing and estimating, so on and so on, you get the picture.

Get your DC involved in daily doings the HSing way and let them have fun with it. Most of the time they don't even realize they are being educated. WARNING! Learning can get addictive this way!

When's My Turn?

      Hey everybody!!!

If you are wondering why you haven't seen a new post or recieved comments from me there's a very good reason. My DW is legally blind with very low vision with tunnel vision in one eye in the day & none at night in the dark for those who do not know. So she has been dependent upon myself & others for quite a while.

I use to read all of your blogs to her, read books to her, tell her the color of her clothes, etc. Now I have grow accustom & love doing these things for her. It seems that it draws our family closer together. Our DC have taken there part in reading since they have learned to read. But thanks to modern technology this privaledge has been slowly taken away from us (TEARS)

Now we have to watch as my DW uses her CCTV to read books, mail, etc. (it changes the color contrast & makes letters super big).

The latest gaget is a "ZOOMTEXT" reader & magnafication program. So now it reads the HSing blogs & everything else on her computer (not fair, BooWho...more tears) without me.

It use to be me hogging up the computer all the time as my DC put it, but now it's my DW. I'm so very happy for her, but lost without words. what do I do now? I've got to much time on my hand now. Please pray for me as I adjust to our new way of life.

    YIPPEE!!!!

I just got my copy of Donna Dawson's novel "REDEEMED" & can't wait to use some of my free time now to sit back & get really deeply involved in this book! As soon as I finish it I'll do a short review for everyone.

Now finally to our HSing days! We worked so hard the first few years that this year is a breeze, so we've have a fairly easy year. We just got a report that in the area where we go nature walking close by our house they have spotted a very large Black Bear standing up in the ditch by the road (YIKES). So we decided to stay away from there for a while.

I just love HSing don't you? How I wished many times that I was HSed being that I was so very, very bashful in my youth. The more I hear about the going ons of public school the more I'm grateful to God for leading us this direction for our DC. I know there are many difficult days with HSing your DC, but the rewards of obeying God's will by far outweighs the bad days!!! It's a dedicated cause & you must be dedicated to finish the work God has given you! DON'T GIVE UP!!!! That's my outcry to all HSers everywhere! I'm praying & interseding for you to make it!

Glory to God! He's worth it!

MY VERY FIRST HOMESCHOOL CONVENTION "WOW"!!!!

Yes, my first HS convention but not my last. I was so blessed and overwhelmed by all the speakers, workshops, freestuff and curriculums. My DW and I had to split up to go to different workshops that were going on at the same time.

I must say, I was blowed away by some of the speakers by their wisdom, boldness and the way they applied the Word of God to HSing. Wow, did the power of conviction ever hit home! OUCH!!!

I'm sure that my DW will get in more details about them soon. We learned a lot of great ideas and ways to teach our DC.

Now to change the subject, we all must be in agreement in prayer for the first time HS'ers and the discourged HS'ers. I've already known of some that have purchased their curriculum and now are fearful that they can't handle being a teacher. So all that would please bind with me in prayer for these that God will strengthen them, encourge them, make them bold as a lion and help them to get their fight back! I don't want to see anyone give up. This is a fight to fight and a battle to win! By the Grace of God we will win!!!!

Enough said, now lets go to our prayer closets and hit our knees and fight for our beloved HS'ers as we all serve the same Master and He will see to our request!!!

~Me, TAGGED????~

The unexpected happened "I'VE BEEN TAGGED" by who else but my loving DW!!!!!!! What could she be up to? Surely she knows everything about me by now? Or does she? Well, here goes. I hope I don't get into any trouble over this.

************************************

1~Theplayer starts with 8 random facts about themselves.

2~The person who is tagged must post on their own blog the answers and they must post the rules first.

3~Then the player must pick 8 people and tag them.

4~Then leave them a note so that they will know that they have been tagged.

***********************************

1 ~ First of all I spoiled my DW and now I have my hands full.

2 ~ I have a very bashful nature which makes it extremely difficult to be the Head of my household like God and my DW wants me to be (I'm trying).

3 ~ I would like to write a song or even a book, but I just can't get it together.

4 ~ I hate to disipline my DC, but I must learn to obey the Word of God.

5 ~ My desire is to be Spiritually bold and obediant as Elijah and Elisha, but I'm nowhere even close to it.

6 ~ Sometimes it bothers me when my DW and I start a book and just when it's getting really good she sets it to the side (with several others) and we start another one.

7 ~ Everytime that I take a shower it never fails, theres always a wet spot on the middle of my back I didn't notice until I married my DW who notices everytime.

8 ~ Last of all the fact is that I love my DW very, very much and love gardening with her, nature walking with her, blogging with her, just being with her blesses me!

Well that's enough about me to show everyone that I'm not perfect, but a God loving, God fearing man whose main priority is to keep myself and my family on the "straight and narrow way to Heaven.

Now here's my list of 8 to TAG so look out here I come! TAG YOUR IT !!!

Changing My Icon

I just changed my profile image to one I made. Just wanted something different. We have been very busy lately. Our DC's have been on the Summer Reading Program at our library. They (us to!) have been having a lot of fun reading, making I-Spy posters, writing created stories & seeing lots of really neat exhibitions & shows at the library. We had a parade today with hotdogs & soft drinks at the end of it. The DC got to play flutes, tamborines & drums during the parade. They also got to tour the Firetruck & talk to the fireman.

This is competitive for the DC's but we teach our's it's not about winning or losing, it's about honoring God in everything we do.

Next Friday is the last day when everything will be judged and the winners will be announced. After that we will be getting back into our math, science, etc.. Nature studies & lots of field trips (my favorites!!!). We are going to my oldest DS's wedding on July 7th for 9 days. One long field trip!!!

I've got to go! My DW has been working very hard making dresses for her & our DD for the "Old Fashion Day" at our church Saturday. It's going to be fun for everyone! Covered wagon rides, antiques, antique cars, old timey games, bonnets & pioneer style clothing, old fashion foods & desserts & homemade icecream! Can't wait!

I do have to go, so God bless you all!

Praying for you & your DC's!

Preparing For the Next year

I'm sure that most of you are like us and are getting things ready for the next school year. We are slowly gathering our curriculum together. My DW and I also do light schoolwork with our DC's during the summer to keep them refreshed and alert to their earlier teaching's.
We are also preparing ourselves for the task by Bible studies and much prayer. Well, I must go for now. Praying for all Homeschoolers, Parents and children. Please remember our Troops in Iraq. Pray, pray, pray.

A Borrowed Devotion

I read this on our HSing Club message board that our friend Angie posted and just wanted to share it with everyone. I pray it blesses and encourages you as it did me! Thanks Angie!

HOLD FAST THE CONFIDENCE AND THE REJOICING OF THE HOPE FIRM UNTO THE
END." (HEBREWS 3:6B)

DO YOU EVER FEEL LIKE YOU HAVEN'T ACCOMPLISHED A THING AT THE END OF
YOUR HOMESCHOOLING DAY? DO YOU LOOK AROUND AND SEE EVEN MORE PILES
OF PROJECTS TO FINISH AND MESSES TO CLEAN UP THAN WHEN YOU STARTED?
HAVE YOUR CHILDREN LEARNED A NEW SET OF MULTIPLICATION TABLES TODAY
BUT ENTIRELY FORGOT THE HISTORICAL FACTS THEY LEARNED ABOUT GEORGE
WASHINGTON YESTERDAY? SOME DAYS YOU MAY WONDER IF YOU CAN BE YOUR
CHILDREN'S TEACHER. MAYBE THEY WOULD BE BETTER OFF IF THEY WENT TO
SCHOOL. STOP! THINK ABOUT WHAT JUST WENT THROUGH YOUR MIND. WHERE
ARE THOSE THOUGHTS COMING FROM - FROM THE ONE WHO CALLED YOU TO TEACH
YOUR CHILDREN AND PROMISED YOU THE STRENGTH TO DO IT OR FROM THE ONE
WHO WOULD SEE YOU FAIL?

EVERY HOMESCHOOLING MOTHER SECOND GUESSES HERSELF FROM TIME TO TIME.
AFTER A DIFFICULT DAY, WE ALL QUESTION WHETHER WE HEARD GOD RIGHT
WHEN HE ASKED US TO HOMESCHOOL OUR CHILDREN. WE'RE NOT ALONE; EVEN
GREAT MEN OF GOD FACED SIMILAR DOUBTS WHEN GOD CALLED THEM TO
DIFFICULT TASKS. MEN LIKE MOSES, GIDEON, AND DAVID ALL STRUGGLED
WITH THEIR ANXIETIES IN SERVING GOD TOO. BUT GOD KNEW THEIR HEARTS,
AND HE PROVIDED THE CONFIRMATION AND THE ASSURANCE THEY NEEDED TO
REMAIN FAITHFUL IN DOING WHAT HE ASKED. "I CALLED UPON THE LORD IN
DISTRESS: THE LORD ANSWERED ME, AND SET ME IN A LARGE PLACE."
(PSALMS 118:5)

GOD IS WAITING TO DO THE SAME FOR YOU TODAY. IF YOU'RE WONDERING HOW
YOU ARE GOING TO GET THROUGH HOMESCHOOLING TODAY, SIMPLY TAKE A
MOMENT NOW AND PRAY A PRAYER SOMETHING LIKE THIS:

FATHER,
MY FAITH IS WEAK; PLEASE FILL ME WITH YOUR PRESENCE AND CONFIRM AGAIN
TO ME THAT I AM DOING YOUR WILL IN HOMESCHOOLING OUR CHILDREN.
STRENGTHEN ME TO FOLLOW YOU IN OBEDIENCE AND HELP ME COMMIT THIS DAY
TO YOU FOR YOUR GLORY. IN THE NAME OF YOUR DEAR SON, JESUS, AMEN.

WE'LL SOON BE DONE ? WHEN????

The old song says;    "We'll soon be done with troubles and trials in that Home on the other side"     Ohhhhhh, how we will welcome that rest on the other side! AMEN!!!

My DW and I enjoy HSing our DC,s most of the time everything goes so smooth and our DC do their work so quickly, but then, there are days that nothing goes right. Then it,s a real battle teaching them. The school work goes to a slow crawl and we,re not getting anywhere. My DS is constantly sitting there, holding his pencil, staring off into nothing, daydreaming, no work done. YIKES!!!

My DD in the meanwhile is sneeking one of her reading books in and when I look up their she is reading instead of doing her schoolwork. Or sometimes they sneek a toy in to play with when Daddy isn't looking. Double YIKES!!!!

To many times I had to search the DC's, the schoolroom, their desk, etc. for toys or other than school, reading books. My DC's are very good at this.

Then we wonder when will this ever end? Yes, it's very troublesome somedays and it seems as if we are being punished for teaching our DC's the right way. Sometimes we may even want to just give up and put them in PUBLIC school (Heaven forbid !!!). Why is it so hard to do the will of God? When will it end? How can I hold on? How can I keep going? When, when will we be done?????

Well HSing friends it wasn't easy for Abraham, Moses, David, Jerimiah, Daniel, John, Matthew, Luke, Mark, Paul and our most beloved Saviour Jesus Christ Himself and let's not forget Mary His Mother and GOD the Father who had to watch Him die in agony for our sins.

No, it's not easy doing the Fathers will, but His will must be fulfilled nomatter what the cost we must surrender all to Him and He will perform it. His will shall be done through us for He is mighty in battle and will not lose! So as long as we have breath in our lungs, while we are still in this world, the battle will rage on. Give Up? Never!!!!! Not when we see other children grow up in the grace of GOD like JB, Taryn and many others you can name. These youth have set my goal for my DC's. Yes the Devil and all the forces of Darkness are attacking them and their minds. But they are making it through by the grace of GOD being good soldiers in Christ. I see them growing in grace and giving the devil no place! I hold them up in prayer and yours also! I see a great future for them and better opportunities than the public school can provide. Live for GOD HS'ers, He freely gave His life for you. So let's do His will to the end and then He will say "Well done my child, enter in" then we will be done.(Joy, Rest, Peace,Love,Happiness forever more)

Passing On A Message

This Pastor has guts!!

Thought you might enjoy this interesting prayer given in Kansas at the
opening session of their Senate.  It seems prayer still upsets some
people.

When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas
Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what
they heard:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and
to seek your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is
exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self
esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it
freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called
it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin
and set us free. Amen!"

The response was immediate.  A number of legislators walked out during
the prayer in protest.  In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church,
where Rev.  Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with
only 47 of those calls responding negatively.  The church is now
receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India ,
Africa and Korea .

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program,

"The Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program
than any other he has ever aired.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and
wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one
nation under God."

I found this on my e-mail. I thought it might be interesting to some of the HS-parents. God bless you all!!!!

WHY RISE UP EARLY?

As I rise up this beautiful morning before the sun rise's up, before the birds start their songs of praise to the Lord, before the day breaks forth at His command to light up His good Earth, to bless all of His creations of life with the brightness of light, I look around the house as it is so quiet, so peaceful, so calm. No thoughts about the troubles, trials, worries, or cares of this life. O' no, not at all! How could I ruin this time alone, all alone with the Lord?

Who has awaken me so early in the stillness of the night? Is it not the same one that has many times troubled your sleep to arouse you, to stir you, to awaken you, to converse with you as He did Samuel? Who calleth out my name in such a soft gentle whisper?

I sit up in bed startled. I look, but see nothing. I listen, but hear nothing but quiteness in the darkness of night. I stand up and look back toward my wife, who is sleeping so peaceful, resting. O' the time she had yesterday with teaching our DC and wrestling with all the worldly affairs and troubles. I look up to the Heavens "Thank you Lord for giving her rest before today's battles."  I pray over my wife who in my opinion deserves that Crown of Life and Eternal Rest with Jesus, one day to come.

I walk around, I stand at my DC's Bed and look upon them in their peaceful sleep. I check on them at times during the night (my wife doe's too) to make sure they are still covered and not cold. They sometimes dream and talk in their sleep, I listen, I laugh. When it's a bad dream that has awakened them, I comfort them back to sleep and pray for them (my wife doe's too). But at this early time I pray over them and thank God for lending them to us for a while. Time enough to teach the one's that He entrusted to us about Him, His ways, His character, and His precious Holy Word. About Godly values, love, trust, friendship, manners, etc. About the goodness of God and how He created us to be His people to worship and praise Him.

Sometimes I spring up out of bed, full of eagerness and desire to fellowship with the Lord! While at other times I can hardly get my eyes to open. There are times that I am ashamed to face the Lord because of the sin of all my failures yesterday, Yes! I blew it again! Some days I just want to give up, but He (Jesus) won't let me. Instead He encourages me to try again with His help. Then I ponder how the day before went and I see clearly how Jesus throughout the day helped me, encouraged me, and strenghten me in the worst times of the day. O' yes, we can do it! We can make it through the day with Jesus. Phillipians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ which strenghtenth me."

We as Homeschoolers have our job cut out for us; often at times hard, at times easy, but He didn't say we had to do it all alone. He said; "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5. So the next time everything seems to fall apart or go crazy, look up and smile as He looks down upon you and smiles. It helps to know He's there! While you are watching your DC's playing, schooling, or trying to understand their problems themselves, when you're near, right there to help them through it, remember He's also their for you.

Another Year ???

Let's see, another year?  Maybe, then again maybe not.  Question, shouldn't we be looking for the coming of our Lord?  Surely He wouldn't come back this year.  Why not?  Look around your modern world. Are not the prophecy of the Holy Scriptures fulfilled?  How much time do we really have to teach our DC about God & the Salvation of Jesus Christ, about Heaven, etc...?

Doesn't it bless you when you find your DC doing their chores or other things that you tell them to do?  Wouldn't you want to be found doing what God told you to do with the DC that He entrusted you with?  This is a new year, a new start.  Let's blow the dust off our Bibles & open it up to our DC. Teach them the Love of God with the Word & with our own life.  Don't just tell them but, show them the love of God in our daily lives.

Let us let our Lights shine this year that all should see the Light of our Saviour shining through in this world of darkness. Let us pray for one another, our attitudes, grudges, anger, hurts, affictions, loneliness, our firey trials, etc......................... Remember me in your prayers; PLEASE !

Remember, don't make any vows that you may not keep this year.  Love ye one another!  I didn't say it, Jesus did.  I love all HS's enough to pray daily for you.  Thats God's way!

Traci thought I was writing a blog on my PERFECT WIFE, but thats another story!!!!!!  "I love you sweetheart" !!!!!!!!!!!

The Joy's Of Christmas

The Christmas songs, music, programs, fun, excitement, lights, shopping and of course gifts. Here we spend a day of shopping like this; about one hour shopping and about two hours fellowshipping with friends and love ones. Thats the way it is in our small town. We found out a long time ago that there is no use in being in a hurry around here. We learned to love it, so you never know who you will see in town.

A happy time for many but, a sad time for some. We have had love ones pass away on Thanksgiving Day and just before Christmas Day. The living keep on living but many are missed during these Holidays. Let us all please remember these that have lost their love ones and pray for them that God would comfort them and ease their pain and loneliness.

How well I know the hurt, how well God knows the hurt when He gave up His only begotten Son for us. Now I thank our Lord and Saviour "Jesus Christ" for being that Supreme Sacrifice for our sins. So now there is hope through Him that we can see and be with our saved loved ones who are still living on in God's great Heaven!

I urge everyone that if you are not "saved" to find Salvation now through Jesus Christ so we all can be together in heaven for all eternity. Sounds great doesn't it. So hurry and don't delay for "today is the day of Salvation."

"MERRY CHRISTMAS"

to all HSB Mom's and Dad's

I'm Just A Homeschooling Mom

I must rise up early,

Early I will call upon the Lord.

My hands are lifted up with glee,

As I cry out to Him even more.

I praise Him for His righteousness,

For His mercy and His grace.

My heart cry's out for a rest,

Tears are flowing down my face.

Lord, I am trying with all my heart,

To teach my children all thy ways.

So when they grow older, they will not depart,

From thy commandments all their days.

I'm just a homeschooling Mom,

Nothing special as you can see.

Down on my knees, I'm looking for a calm,

Please help me Lord, this is my plea.

Oh Lord! Prepare me for this day,

To be loving, but firm, strong, and kind.

To have God-fearing children, will be my pay.

Rooted and grounded in the Word, they will not decline.

Thank you Lord for answering my prayer,

For now I know, I will never be in despair.

With Christ in me, I am prepared,

To be a homeschooling Mom, this day through prayer.

To all homeschooling Moms,

Spend time in the morning with the Master.

Start your day with hands raised and open palms.

Then you will be ready for all disaster!

             Backing you all in prayer!!!!

Passing The Baton

My Dw & I had a real transforming experience at the "Passing The Baton" seminar here locally. If you get a chance to go then by all means do it.

We did not have the finances to go($42.50 each/40 people minimum) But we got a blessing. The church that held it felt like they should share this teaching seminar with others so they paid the price for the program & of course we went!

I don't have time to tell about the program right now, it lasted about 6 hours. I've got to meditate on it for a little while.

Please remember my family & I in your prayers.

    Praying always for you; Elton

THE (LOVING) TEACHER

In their quest to train their children in God's ways, the Israelits were to take advantage of every teachable moment. During conversations at home, while traveling together, at bedtime, and early in the day.

Kids are not always openminded during the times we set aside for religious instruction. Your most meaningful conversation with your Ds or Dd may take place on a trip to the store, at the mall, during a morning jog together, or while giving a backrub.

Ask God to make you senitive to times when your children are open to spiritual conversation. If it's still possible, start while they're young. We have a lot of "ME TIME" at our house! Our Dc's will take turns spending time along with "Mom or Dad" .  It may be a brownie and milk together with close loving conversation.

All this love forms a super strong bond between us. This also helps us as teachers. It is important to keep the lines of communications open as our Dc grow to become adults in this world of ungodliness and sin. Our Dc's need God and us all the way!!!

If you have not started yet, get started now. If you don't get to their hearts now, then satan and the world with their temptations and lust will.

DO YOU LOVE THAT COMPUTER MORE THAN YOU LOVE "GOD"???

That was the question my 5yo DS ask me today. I was shocked! Then before I could say anything he ask; do you read on the computer more than you read your Bible?

What could I say? The little preacherman got me. He got me good. Conviction, conviction, Ooooo.....the conviction hit home. There's nothing to do now but repent. I have to ask the Lord to forgive me for not being a Godly example for my DS and then I have to ask my DS to forgive me too.

My DC's watch me very closely, a lot closer than I realized. I'm the Bible they read many times as they grow & learn in life. The way I live backs up what I'm teaching them. Especially when I'm teaching them to live by the "Word of God".

Any parent knows full well that it's part of human nature to avoid doing what we're told, all children do it. But many parents who wish their DC's were more obedient have set a bad example (like me) more times than they realize. They disobey traffic laws, skirt regulations here, avoid rules there, put off doing what they're supposed to around the house. Is it any wonder children learn to do the same? Parents should consider what kind of example they set. Do your children see you respecting the rules or avoiding them?

This is for yours truly, (me), more than anyone else. The Holy Spirit has been dealing heavily with me today to change a few things about my life.

      I desire your prayers!

Doctrines And Devotions

Aren't doctrine only for theologians and scholars? Not at all. Bible doctrines are merely Bible teachings; some of these are so simple that even a small child can grasp them.

For example, consider these truths about God:

  • God loves me
  • God takes care of me
  • God leads me
  • God gives me food to eat
  • God gives me a home
  • God is with me everywhere
  • God is good

All doctrines - on the one hand profound, on the other hand extremely simple.

most doctrines can be life changing; that is, when appropriated into a person's life, they make that person different.

Devotions are great times to think about Bible doctrines. A doctrine such as "God takes care of me" can touch every generation. At each age level it will be understood and expressed in different ways. But all ages should be able to talk together about this single, simple truth.

Treat devotions like a drinking fountain on a hot day. Much can happen during the course of a day that would put personal and family devotions on the back burner. It is important to remember God and the priority of God's Word and prayer amid the rush of a day and evening.

This came from my dw's Crossings Devotional Bible and I wanted to share it with my blogger friends to encourage our devotion time with our dc's daily. We were really blessed last night when our dd 6yo suddenly understood the meaning of a scripture in the book of Psalm. She was so excited about it and we were delighted too! We enjoy our devotional time  together as well as prayer time. It binds us together as a loving and caring family. I hope it blesses you as I really care about all HSB mom's daily battles and hold you all up in prayer to God above who can do something for you.
