On the road to self sufficiency

Well family and friends..... I have had this blog for over a year and here is my first post.  Boy I stay on task huh?   Dh and I have decided to try and be as self suffcient as possible on the land God has granted us.  I would love to share our journey with you.  Last weekend the family went out and got 8 meat rabbits.  My Dh (Bret) spent all evening Saturday making rabbits pens.  Our rabbits didn't waste any time helping us to make more rabbits if you know what I mean.  For a week we watched the rabbits as we fed them, watered them, and cleaned their cage daily.  Well one rabbit just wasn't eating, so............ he became dinner day before yesterday.  This was Dh's first "dressing" experience.  I had done this plenty of times before with rabbits, deer, fish, and pigs.  We got him all ready and cooked him up and guess what?  I couldn't eat him.  Me!!! The least sensitive woman I know lost her stomach trying to eat a rabbit I named.  Well anyways.  Here are the pictures of Cornelius' journey to the plate and pics of the rabbit cages my amazing husband built.
