Aug. 21, 2009 Rome the city of Blood !
| Today we watched "Drive Through History" and we learned about the Colosseum. Emperor Nero destroyed most of Rome to build his golden house which made him unpopular and eventually led to him killing himself. But the next king destroyed a large portion of that palace to build the Colosseum. The Colosseum was known for it's bloody and disgusting battles and many animals and people were exterminated. Jul. 28, 2009 Today we went to Ancient Greece. (Drive Through History dvd)
Alexander the Great conquered Egypt and a lot of other places. He tried to conquer Africa but he didn't succeed because his troups weren't ready and they had been used to fighting easy to beat people. They were surprised to meet half crazy tribes and war elephants. So he made his way back. Bill age 12 |
