About Me

Greetings, my name is Dr. Carolyn McKeon and I am a homeschooling mom. I have been homeschooling for 8 years and have 4 boys. We also have an exchange student from S. Korea who will do all her high school years here in America with us. This is her fourth year with us. My background is as a speech and hearing teacher and reading specialist. I recently received my PhD in Education in May 2007. I am currently employed by Kaplan University as an online instructor in their Educational Studies Department. My husband is a college professor and recently finished his PhD and defended in September of 2006. My family is very active in football, swimming, fencing, acting, and modeling. I would describe myself as an eclectic homeschooler. My passion is homeschooling and parent education. I know that not all homeschooling moms will go back to school to get a PhD. I have been blessed to be able to do so. I have focused all my doctoral learning in the homeschool arena. While there are no programs specifically in homeschooling, my degree will be in Advanced K-12 Teaching and learning with a focus on the homeschool environment.
