SING LIKE NOBODY'S LISTENING......

Oct. 22, 2007

Yep, I'm alive still

but only just barely, lol.

yeah so I'm way busy and don't have the time to update two blogs, so all of my updates are on my other blog gemstone. Go on, head over there!

for those of you who didn't click on the link...

1. today's song is: In Your Eyes by Nicole Nordeman

2. yesterday was really weird.  I mean, I went to church, worship band practice, and youth group as usual, but those weren't cooky. What was strange was the creepy presence of spirits, evil and otherwise, in and around the church all day. No, I'm nto talking about ghosts. Just hear me out, okay?

A lot of people felt it. My dad sensed something really good was going to happen, but my good friend Lindy and the adult worship leader Todd felt that something was off.  I felt it too.

My mom works as a janitor at the church on saturdays, and when she went into The Home (the mobile home right next to the church where youth group activites are held) she found that it had been torn completely apart. The furniture was tipped over, everything on the 'stage' was tipped over or knocked askew, and papers were scattered everywhere.

She vaccumed around it quickly and left, finguring it was just rowdy teens.

Sunday, The Home looked normal. Everything was in its place and nothing seemed to be wrong. But something heavy seemed to hang over the whole place.

That afternoon when I came to worship band practice, everything, again, was normal. Andrew went out to the main church bulding to get his guitar from the storage room there. Lindy and I were checking our mics, Christian was fiddling with his amp, and Ty was messing with his drum set when Andrew came back, plugged in his guitar, and reached down to tune it. When his hand hit the tuning pegs, the wood gave way under his fingers!

The machine head was snapped clean off, held on only by a peice of metal and the guitar strings!!!!!!

No one knows who could have done it. Only four people have the key to that particular storage closet: Todd, Doug, Christian, and Andrew. That kind of a break wouldn't have been an accident. The only way you could snap something like that is if you applied a WHOLE lot of pressure. The worst thing? That guitar was 2,000 dollars. MINIMUM. It was custom made and designed right nere in America. I swear, Andrew was about to cry (I don't blame him, I was too!), because that type of damage can't be fixed.

It gets worse. Later as we were practicing (Andrew with one of Christian's extra guitars) Ty hit his snare drum to hear a popping sound. We all stopped and watched as he hit it again. it ttly didn't sound right, so he took it off the stand and turned it over... only to find that the bottom had blown out!!  Around the same time an X-box got tipped over with a game still inside, smashing it. Later on that night Doug was playing paintball when his CO2 chamber ran out- despite having been filled just moments ago.

When Lindy and I were practicing, it was like something was stopping us from singing. Our throats were dry, we couldn't remember the words, we were stumbling, couldn't hold the harmony... it was horrible.

Finally we couldn't stand it anymore. Something was definetly going on, something weird, and we needed to fix it.

SO we gathered all the otther student leaders and prayed, hard. Then we through the whole Home and prayed over it. Same with the main church building.

and that night? We had the best God experience EVER. Lindy and I sounded amazing, Ty's drumming had a whole different quality, the bass and electric guitars worked perfectly. At the end of worship I was crying. It was so cool!!!!

The lesson was amazing too, but this post is already way too long, so I'll finish up now.

The moral of the story? God can do ANYTHING, and if Satan seems to be working, it's just cause God has a plan.

 see ya later!
