SONG OF THE DAY: Christine Evans - I Know What I Like
Oh, man, you guys. You’ll never ever believe what happened this past monday. It was freaking hilarious!
Okay, so Leopard lover got a new/used Polaroid HD for her birthday- it’s about twenty years old, but new to her. Anyway, ever since she’s been obsessed with taking pictures. It’s a camera used for taking professional style pictures that turn out amazing!
Well, we got together that afternoon, along with her sister Girlinapinkbathrobe, and we went for a walk, toting the camera. Leo took pictures of Pink and I ‘modeling’ at different, random locations. Like at this amazing, gothic style church, and on some older play ground equipment- wooden and metal teeter-totters, a huge old slide, this ‘merry go round’ thing that people sit on, someone spins, and you go for a wild ride around and around….
According to Leo we all looked amazingly hot. Idk about that, tho…. lol
ANYWAY.
Right next to this playground there’s Bubble Bubble burg’s only skate park, which was inhabited right then with a lot of guys and a couple of girls. We deemed it necessary to ignore them and just kept on taking pictures.
Anyway, when it started growing darker, we took pictures of the moon, which had a rainbow circling around it, and some other random objects. Leo had forgotten her flashbulb, so we could only take pictures of things that were in good light.. Which meant practically nothing. So we sent Pink off to grab Leo’s flashbulb and Leo and I went on the Merry Go Round thingie to spin.
Here’s the fun part. As we were spinning, these two skater guys came up and stood there for a little bit while we spun. Leo and I exchanged looks, and kind of slowed down, but still spun.
Them: “Hey.”
Us: “Hi.”
Boy 1: “So, uh, we have this friend, and he thinks you’re as hot as sh*t..”
Me: -trying not to laugh- “Oh, really.”
Boy 2: “Yeah, and he’s too effing shy to come over here and talk to you guys.”
Boy 1: “So we were wondering if you could come with us to meet him. If you don’t like him you can just walk away. I mean what can it hurt, you know?”
Boy 2: “Yeah, seriously, what can you lose? He‘ll behave. What can it hurt?”
Leo: -to me- “Should we?”
Me: -back- “Like they continue saying, what can it hurt?”
Us: -laughing a bit- “Why not?”
So we grabbed Leo’s cell phone, linked arms, and went around the playground to the skate park and the parking lot beside it.
The guys kept up intelligent conversation all the way- punctuated with many uhs and ums and curse words, lol. We accidentally used a couple of big words-like perchance and sagacious and indolent- and they looked at us like we were nuts.
They asked, “so what’ve you guys been up to?” and I decided to be impish- so when Leo said “Taking pictures” I jumped in to add- “She’s an aspiring photographer. Some of her stuff is online.”
You see, Leo and I had-out of fun- googled her name once, and found this photographer with Leo’s exact first and last name. They were good pics, too. So I told the guys to go onto that website and they said the would, Leo giving me the evil eye the whole time.
ANYWHO.
We found out that Boy 1 was Adam, Boy 2 was Steven (I think), and the guy who thought we were hot was Ryan.
So we talked to them all for a little bit, told them we were fifteen, said we didn’t have any boyfriends, we were home schooled, and no, we didn’t smoke, thank you very much.
Ryan and this chick had driven off because he was shy, and Steven ran after them, trying to get them to come back. We kind of just stood there with our arms crossed, shooting each other looks and trying to make polite conversation while we waited for Ryan and the girl -I think her name was Kate- to come back.
When they finally did, Ryan and Adam got in a little mock fight because Ryan wouldn’t come say hello to us. Finally he got brave and *gasp* came close enough for us to actually see what he looked like, lol. I guess to look cool, he took a cigarette from Kate’s pack and lit it while sitting on the trunk of her car. He took a puff of it and promptly choked, and Leo and I exchanged a meaningful look.
Leo: “Well, we’d better get going.”
Me: “Yeah. Her sister’s gonna come get us pretty soon and we need to be there when she does.”
Leo: “So we gotta leave. It was nice meeting you guys.”
Me: “See ya around.”
Adam: “See ya. Thanks for coming over here.”
Kate and Steven: *Passionate kissing noises*
Ryan: *Cough* “yeah nice meeting you” *Cough*
Us: “Bye….”
We walked away, not talking, trying not to laugh at the stupid-ness of it all and only barely keeping our composure.
But as soon as we were out of sight, I commented: “Well, that was fun.” and Leo said, “It’s very flattering to have the words ’hot’ and ‘sh*it’ used in the same sentence when referring to us, isn’t it? What, do they think we have diarrhea?”
I just couldn’t hold it in any longer: I burst out laughing, long and loud. I know they heard me, but I don’t care. It was amazingly hilarious and I just had to let it out.
So there’s my story of the week. The moral of the story- take risks, they could be a lot of fun; be bold, be brave; and DON’T HIT ON RANDOM GIRLS!!! haha
hope you enjoyed that!
