I am so excited to be able to host a giveaway for SpellQuizzer!  To be honest, I had not heard of SpellQuizzer until this weekend, when I recieved an email from Dan Hite of TedCo Software asking me to review this great downloadable program on my blog. 

I started by checking out the website for SpellQuizzer where you can download a free 30 day trial.  I love it when companies give you an opportunity to try something before you purchase it.  You can also view video demos, screen shots, and a special section just for homeschoolers on their website. 

I was impressed with the simplicity of SpellQuizzer and how user friendly it was. Here are some pictures of the different screens.

You can see how simple it is to navigate. SpellQuizzer was not designed with any one spelling curriculum in mind.  In fact, it could compliment any spelling curriculum since you create your own custom spelling lists.   You do need to have a microphone so that you can record your spelling words  and sentences but you purchase one of these for around $10.  There are also downloadable premade spelling lists available here on the SpellQuizzer website.  I really liked the fact that they also had a list to help preschoolers learn their abc's.  I thought this was great because often small children want to be able to participate in the same activities as their older siblings and this would give them an opportunity to do that.  I also liked the fact that they had a words from Latin list as we are big Latin people in our house. 

I think this would be a great program for large families as a child could review their spelling words with this program while mom was busy with the other children.   I also thought this could be a great program for children who are easily distracted as they could wear headphones to listen to the words and focus more intently.

The program is $29.95.  I think that is very reasonable considering you could use it for years and with all your children.  Please visit their website and check it out.  I think you will like what you see!
