Loving My Life as a Mother and a Wife

Oct. 16, 2009

A very special award!

Thanks Mrs. C  !  Coming from you this award means so much!

Now with this award  I need to tell you six things about myself and then award it to six other gorgeous bloggers.
This list of six things really doesn't have any theme or order.  They are just random thoughts.

1.  My husband and I grew up less than a mile apart from each other but really didn't know each other until we were adults.  We only dated for about 3 months before we got married.  We have been happily married ever since.  Sometimes you just don't need a long time to know something is right!

2.  I am a horrible speller.  It is not that I never tried to learn.  It is just all the crazy mixed up spelling rules in the English language.  I am soooo grateful for spell checker!  It is really hard now because Tyler is a great speller and he corrects me all the time.  Ouch!

3.  My favorite book is Anna Karenina.  I have read it about 6 times.  I have never seen the movie because I am afraid it will ruin it for me.  I actually like most Russian literature.  Something about the strength of the characters has always impressed me.

4.  I love NPR.  I don't really care for their news but I love the music and culture pieces they do.  I have also listened to Garrison Keillor and his Tales of Lake Wobegon since I was at least 8 or 9.  I am not quite sure how I ever started listening to NPR as I grew up with parents who favored Rock and Roll.  I guess I have always been on my own program. I even have a NPR coffee mug! ;)

5.  I have a very bad weakness for late night snacking.  I am fine during the day but when I am up late the kitchen really isn't safe.  I feel bad about it but can't seem to stop.

6.  The one thing I have never done that I would really like to do some day is go on a missions trip.  It could be short term or long.  I had a teacher in high school who had been a missionary to China and he used to share his love for those people and so many amazing stories.  I think it sparked a life long fascination with the mission field.  If I had a choice Peru would be the place I would most like to go.

Okay, I hope you are still with me.  Now to award six fellow bloggers.

1.  Sheri @ Homeschooling on a Wing and a Prayer
2.  Leslie @ Joyful Mother of 6
3.  Ginger @ Adoption and Homeschooling ~ Our Life's Journey
4.  Angel @ Angel Navy Wife
5.  Leslie @ Recovering Noah
6.  Tajuana @ Cross Rhodes Academy (I just recently discovered this blog)

Thank you again Mrs. C!

Bronwyn - can you tell me how you posted the pic of the blog award in your sidebar? I can't figure it out.

Thanks!

Leslie,
I definitely understand the lack of time. I look forward to reading yours when you get a chance.
As for posting the award on the side, I save the picture onto my computer and then put it on Photobucket. I then copy the html code from Photobucket. I go over here to my template for my blog and try to figure out where on the side I want to put the award. I think that is the hardest part although I am getting a little better at it. I then copy the html code and preview to make sure it looks okay and if it does I save it. If I don't like the way it looks I reset the changes and try again. I think on the template it says begin rightside and then somewhere under there is where you would want it. I have been trying to learn as I go along but mostly it has been trial and error. HTML is like learning a foreign language.
Let me know if that helps.
Blessings,
Bronwyn
