Posted in The Principle Approach: Self-Directed Study
Hello,
I want to welcome you in your interest in The Principle Approach (PA). I am very excited at the prospect of being able to discuss this approach with likeminded women. I read an article by a woman not long ago who jokingly described a typical scenario of not being able to find another PA'er within 100 miles. :)
The fact of the matter is PA is centralized back east. And it was actually F.A.C.E. (The Foundation for American Christian Education) located in Virginia Beach, who I believe, have really made this approach to education doable for people like me.
I became drawn to PA through a couple of friends who were also researching it. My original pull was that I was seeking a character curriculum. PA has turned out to be that and much, much more. I then logged onto a Yahoo group...bibleprinciples, which then referred me to a sister site that went through a Self-Directed Study published by FACE. Although it has taken some time, I have now implemented PA across the curriculum and am having wonderful results. Of course, with anything new (or old for that matter), there are always moments of discouragement. But, there have been mostly wonderful results and I can't imagine doing it any other way.
As a brief descripton, the Principle Approach is not a curriculum but an approach to education which first lays a biblical foundation in the Word of God, and then uses the primary source of Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary of the English Language (containing a Biblical worldview) to further define each educational study.
If you are completely new to The Principle Approach, you may want to consider going through the "The Principle Approach: A Summary" located on the sidebar; which gives an overview of The Principle Approach before digging in.
Both this study on the "Self-Directed Study" through The Noah Plan and the "The Principle Approach: A Summary" are just my interpretations as I have studied. You may find, as you study, that you will see things from a different angle; and that is a good thing as God leads you individually through this process.
