Laminate for less $$$

Posted in money time saving ideas and lessons

Use Clear Contact Paper. (you can usually find it in the shelving paper area of the store you shop at.) If you are lucky enough to live near a teacher supply store, you can get huge rolls for only $20

Years of experience have taught me this is the best way to do it.

Cut two pieces to fit what ever you are going to laminate.

Lay the contact paper down, sticky side up. Press whatever item you wish to laminate onto it starting w one end and smoothing your way the other.  Place the other piece of contact sticky side up and then do the same thing.  This seems to be the best way to avoid the bubbles. Then trim.

I use this for quotes I put on my walls, phonics charts, posters, bulliten boards at church (I have words I have used on my boards for over and over again for 7 years now that still look great), anything paper!

I have been doing this for several years now.  It is a lot cheaper than using those machines; though grant you whatever is laminated in this manner is not as stiff, but it is still sturdy and keeps your items looking great for years.
