cheddar n ham loaf

Posted in recipes

Well, summer is here and sometimes we spend all day outside and I might forget to plan something for dinner or lunch.  This is a quick, inexpensive, and easy meal to make plus, like most of the recipes I share with you, I am willing to bet you have all the ingredients in your kitchen already, except mabey the pizza or bread dough.  This is so easy to adapt to your own taste.  If you have a bread machine with a dough only setting, check my post at pizzadough.

Cheddar & Ham Loaf

1 lb. frozen bread or pizza dough, thawed, or fresh made

1 pkg. of ham lunch meat, you can also use roast beef or turkey

1 c. shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 c. miracle whip dressing

1 egg, beaten

1 T. kraft grated parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Lightly flour a surface to roll the dough out to a 12 x 8 inch rectangle. If you are using my pizza dough recipe, it would be better to grease a large cutting board with crisco.

Top evenly with ham, overlapping slices slightly & leave a 1/2 inch border around the sides

Mix together the cheddar cheese and dressing and spread evenly over ham

After moistening the edges of the dough with water, fold 1/3 of the dough over filling, then repeat with the other side of the dough.  Pinch the ends of dough to seal.

Place seam-side down on a lightly greased baking sheet.

Slice 3 diagonal slits on top of dough.  Brush evenly with egg & sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Bake 35-40 min or until golden brown.  Cool 10 min. before serving.

Slice like you would a sub sandwich.  These also work great for dipping into sandwich sauces or melted cheese!
