Ok, back to Wal-mart.  I found a clearance cart in the diary section with all of the McCormick spices on them.  I stocked up on Allspice, Cinnamon sticks, dried Oregano (in case I was not able to dry enough from my garden this year), Garlic Salt, Cayenne Pepper, even Vanilla Extract and so many others.  I generally pay anywhere from $2.34 to $4.20 a bottle.  This time I got bottles for $.85 to $1.25 a bottle!  Yes, you read that right.  Spices kept in dark cool places (think the bottom drawer of the fridge.) will last at least a year or so.   If you do a lot of baking for the holidays, now is a great time to stock up! We use a lot of Oregano in our home so I bought several bottles!!!

That is a great deal! I buy my spices at the health food store. They are actually cheaper because you are just putting the amount you want into a baggie. Thus, you aren't paying for a bottle. They are much healthier for you too.

That is great! The only health food store around us (remember this is the deep south where there is nothing that is so healthy it can not be fixed by deep frying it) is soooo horribly expensive that you need a loan to buy an orange.

Wow that sounds like such a GREAT deal! I think I need to head back over to WM and see what I can find. I was there the other day but I didn't go back to dairy where they usually put the clearance groceries. Thanks!
