:)
Papa's out of town tonight so we're staying up late watching Indian movies. It's a lot of fun. First we watched Nandukonden Kandukonden or I Have Seen, I Have Realized, I Have Found It. It's based on Sense and Sensibility and it's very sweet. Now we're watching Kuch naa Kaho. I love the music and the costumes. There's one dress in the first movie that I want to make. Maybe I'll use it for a dance I've been planning...
I've been thinking about having a dance next month or late the month after. A black and white ball. Kind of for my 18th birthday, but that's more an excuse really. :P The only problem is that I don't know how to put music together for a dance... I don't even have the music yet. I'm thinking it will have to be late January.
Hehe these movies make me laugh... Next I want to get Bride and Prejudice. :D lol
I've been making and remaking my plans for the next couple years over and over. :P I can't decide... Should I go away to college and study Political Science and journalism, or buy a house and all that jazz... One kind of cancels out the other. I can either save the money and buy a house or save the money and go to college. I think I'm leaning towards the house. Then if I have time and money later I'll go to college.
Last night we watched Collison at our Church. It was a very interesting movie, I would highly recomend it. I'd heard most of the stuff that Doug Wilson said already, but it was really interesting to hear a debate between two people. I really enjoyed it.
Well, it's late and the movie's almost over. Goodnight all. <3

Jobs :P
I spent the entire day applying at places in the mall... :P Aeropostale, Gymboree, Bath and Body Works, Jamba Juice, Justice, and a couple others... I had a short interview with a guy at Anchor Blue that is hopeful.
I also applied at the Dutch Bros that's really close to the bus stop. I would really like that one. :) I would like to work at a coffee shop.
So anyways, we're watching NCIS right now. Tony is SO cool! :D I love how he hides how cool he is most of the time. :)
We went to a book store on our way home, well not really on the way. :P We had to walk most of the way. By the time we got there my toes were numb. Converse do not do much to keep out the cold and wet. :P I love bookstores. They smell so good. I love the smell of books. And this store in particular smells good. :)

Flower Meanings
I have a book that my grandma gave me with a ton of flower meanings. I think they're fascinating and have read this book countless times. I always liked it in the old movies and books when a girl would get flowers and they meant something...
A secret admirer might send a bouquet of these to the girl he liked.
Yellow Acacia = Secret Love

White Clover = Think of Me

Celandine = Joys to Come
Some of my favorites are:
Blue Bell = Constancy
Four Leaved Clover = Be mine
Dead Leaves = Sadness (Kind of an obvious one, but still very fitting.)
Fern = Sincerity
Forget Me Not = True Love
Pansy = You occupy my thoughts, thoughts
Honeysuckle = Bonds of Love
Lettuce = Cold heartedness (I think this one's funny. :D )
Purple Lilac = First emtions of Love
Marigold = Grief Despair
Peach Blossom = I am your captive
Petunia = Never despair
Red Poppy = Consolation
Rose = Love
Bridal Rose = Happy Love
Christmas Rose = Relieve my anxiety
White and Red Roses Together = Unity
Yellow Rose = Decrease of Love, Jealousy
Full Rose Over Two buds = Secrecy
Red Rosebud = Pure and Lovely
White Rosebud - Girlhood and a heart ignorant of Love
Rosemary = Remembrance
Snowdrop = Hope
Dwarf Sunflower = Adoration
Red Tulip = Declaration of Love
Yellow Tulip = Hopeless Love
Blue Violet = Faithfulness
White Lily = Purity and modesty
Zinnia = Thoughts of absent friends
Those were all taken from The Language of Flowers

Ugh...
Ugh, I haven't felt this nasty since last year. This is the third time I've got this sickness in the last month. I think it's swine flu. :P About half the Church has it. That's one problem with such a close Church... Oh, well.
Blah this headache is making it hard to think. Right now I'm watching "Miss Potter" for the second time. I cry so hard at this movie. Not that that's anything amazing... :P I cry very very easily. I just finished the Twilight series. I read the second one in just a little over five hours and sobbed the entire time. I actually really enjoyed the series. I didn't expect to. I'm looking forward to the next movie.
Choir was last night. We have our first performance next week. We're singing psalm 47, it's fun to sing. :)
BLAH! My head is splitting wide open! :'( I really hope this goes away soon...
I can't remember if there was anything else I wanted to say...
I'm craving coke.
Oh, dear. I've started crying already...
I'm starting to put some more interesting stuff on my zune. :) A Coldplay, Keanne, The Flaming Lips, and Radiohead. Thanks Benny! :)
Well, I can't think of anything else to say...
Love, Shay

I don't like "untitled entries".
Ok, I'm sick, and Mama thinks it's Swine Flu. :P I don't think she really thinks that though. :) I think I'll be better by tomorrow, I'm a whole lot better today than I was yesterday. I love Nickelback! Not that I know very many of their songs... :P But we danced to one at the last dance and it was so good. :) I think my favorite is Gotta Be Somebody, which is also the song we used for the dance. lol :D Blah I feel really out of it. I'll be turning 18 in a little under two months now. Which means I'll be able to vote! I'll also hopefully be getting my license soon after that. It would be so nice to not have to worry about getting a ride to and from places. :P Shay |

Memories
So, I'm using the right computer sooner than I thought. :)
Check this out.
I said I would post about memories next. It's something I've been meaning to post about for a while, I just needed to get all my stuff together. :P I have memory boxes and folders tucked away all over the place. :)
My first folder starts in 2004 and ends in 2007. I can't believe I actually saved this stuff. :P I've got drawings, letters, Christmas cards, and some Christmas letters from people in the Church. I also have the camp schedule for 07! lol :D I have J and J's wedding bulletin.
The next folder is 2008. This one is mostly letters, but it does have Forrest and my airplane tickets to California and my Knott's Berry Farm pass. It also has my graduation cards and handout.
Then I have like three boxes of unsorted things... journals, letters, camp schedules, Winter Arts handouts, Christmas letters, invitations, talent night schedules, bubbles from weddings, Oaks park bracelets, 09 graduation pics, KA dinner theater schedule, and my boyfriend Bob. lol :D He's just a plastic army man btw...
Then I have another box downstairs with some more important memories/keepsakes. A few more journals, pictures, drawings, letters, and flowers.
Memories are so important to me. I love being able to get out a picture or something like that and remembering everything that went with it. I want to eventually be able to get a camcorder and be able to film things that are happening. The thing is, not matter how could your camera or your recordings are they will never be able to capture the feelings that go along with each moment. Talent night is one of my favorite points of the year. Camp is drawing to a close and everyone is happy, content and ready to laugh. :) watching the video of talent night is never the same. You're not really there... It just gives you camp sickness... :P

Julian Smith
So, I just discovered this guy named Julian Smith on Youtube thanks to my friend Beka. He's SO funny! :D He's a Christian and I'm pretty sure he was home schooled. At least I guessed that from his older videos. :)
Check him out! Especially his Kidnapped series and the Hot Kool-aid video! Unfortunately I can't link to them right now, I'm not using the right computer. I would have to use the upstairs computer and I don't know when I'll be using it again. I've been kind of busy canning peaches and stuff. :P Which is why I've been neglecting my blog.
I'll try and do a real post soon. I want to post about memories next. I have several boxes of them. :)
Love y'all! Shay |
