Yesterday I practiced using the serger that Mrs. S loaned us.  It's still a little confusing and I can't get all the stitches tight...  but I'm learning.  I'm currently working on an apron.  While I was sewing I watched some movies.  The 2008 Sense and Sensibility and Lady Jane.  I cried during both of them, but mostly during Lady Jane.  That one always makes me cry.  Very hard.  Cary Elwes does a wonderful job...

Today was first Sunday of advent.  We had our first all together play practice today also.  It gets pretty funny at times...  :P  Otherwise I don't think anything else has happened...  We went home almost immediately after practice was over.  Chris and Lindsey came with us.  We all talked for a while and then Chris and I played chess.  It was the best game I have ever played.  :)  And also the first full game of chess I've played in a couple years.  :P  I really like chess.

  I think I'm catching a cold...

I've really been enjoying listening to the Christmas music.  I love this song.  :)

   Blah...

  I love Christmas so much...

I am having so much trouble trying to figure out what to get people for Christmas...  I am really bad at it...  :P

This week I have choir on Wednesday, but no piano lessons.  :P  I turn 18 on Thursday, the KA concert is on Friday, and on Saturday Mama and I are going to go Christmas shopping.  It will be a busy week.  That is good though.  :)  I like business.  It keeps me moving forward.

Anyways, I think that's all I wanted to say tonight.  Goodnight...

Love, Shayleen

Papa's out of town tonight so we're staying up late watching Indian movies.  It's a lot of fun.  First we watched Nandukonden Kandukonden or I Have Seen, I Have Realized, I Have Found It.  It's based on Sense and Sensibility and it's very sweet.  Now we're watching Kuch naa Kaho.  I love the music and the costumes.  There's one dress in the first movie that I want to make.  Maybe I'll use it for a dance I've been planning...

I've been thinking about having a dance next month or late the month after.  A black and white ball.  Kind of for my 18th birthday, but that's more an excuse really.  :P  The only problem is that I don't know how to put music together for a dance...  I don't even have the music yet.  I'm thinking it will have to be late January.

Hehe these movies make me laugh...  Next I want to get Bride and Prejudice.  :D  lol

I've been making and remaking my plans for the next couple years over and over.  :P  I can't decide...  Should I go away to college and study Political Science and journalism, or buy a house and all that jazz...  One kind of cancels out the other.  I can either save the money and buy a house or save the money and go to college.  I think I'm leaning towards the house.  Then if I have time and money later I'll go to college.

Last night we watched Collison at our Church.  It was a very interesting movie, I would highly recomend it.  I'd heard most of the stuff that Doug Wilson said already, but it was really interesting to hear a debate between two people.  I really enjoyed it.

Well, it's late and the movie's almost over.  Goodnight all. <3

I don't know what to post about, but I feel like I should...  Hmph...

I have the Tuesday Blues today.  They're kind of like the Monday Blues, except they're Tuesday's and not as common.    I think it's because Monday was a very long Monday, which makes it feel like it should be Wednesday.  And I love Wednesdays.  I think it's also because I stayed up till 12:30 last night writing a letter, reading bits of New Moon by Stephanie Meyer, listening to Radiohead and the howling wind outside, watching the willow tree outside my window flapping around, and being generaly depressed.    I really like Radiohead now.  They're very consoling.

Anyways, Forrest is going to a political thing today with a good friend from Church.  I wonder if he'll come home all inspired to start that book club.

 I love music.

This video is so cool... :'(

 Anyways, Luv ya! <3

• Nov. 13, 2009 - Jobs :P

Posted in Daily Life
I spent the entire day applying at places in the mall... :P Aeropostale, Gymboree, Bath and Body Works, Jamba Juice, Justice, and a couple others... I had a short interview with a guy at Anchor Blue that is hopeful.

I also applied at the Dutch Bros that's really close to the bus stop. I would really like that one. :) I would like to work at a coffee shop.

So anyways, we're watching NCIS right now. Tony is SO cool! :D I love how he hides how cool he is most of the time. :)

We went to a book store on our way home, well not really on the way. :P We had to walk most of the way. By the time we got there my toes were numb. Converse do not do much to keep out the cold and wet. :P I love bookstores. They smell so good. I love the smell of books. And this store in particular smells good. :)

• Oct. 22, 2009 - Ugh...

Posted in Daily Life
Ugh, I haven't felt this nasty since last year. This is the third time I've got this sickness in the last month. I think it's swine flu. :P About half the Church has it. That's one problem with such a close Church... Oh, well.

Blah this headache is making it hard to think. Right now I'm watching "Miss Potter" for the second time. I cry so hard at this movie. Not that that's anything amazing... :P I cry very very easily. I just finished the Twilight series. I read the second one in just a little over five hours and sobbed the entire time. I actually really enjoyed the series. I didn't expect to. I'm looking forward to the next movie.

Choir was last night. We have our first performance next week. We're singing psalm 47, it's fun to sing. :)

BLAH! My head is splitting wide open! :'( I really hope this goes away soon...

I can't remember if there was anything else I wanted to say...

I'm craving coke.

Oh, dear. I've started crying already...

I'm starting to put some more interesting stuff on my zune. :) A Coldplay, Keanne, The Flaming Lips, and Radiohead. Thanks Benny! :)

Well, I can't think of anything else to say...

Love, Shay

Ok, I'm sick, and Mama thinks it's Swine Flu. :P I don't think she really thinks that though. :) I think I'll be better by tomorrow, I'm a whole lot better today than I was yesterday.

I love Nickelback! Not that I know very many of their songs... :P But we danced to one at the last dance and it was so good. :) I think my favorite is Gotta Be Somebody, which is also the song we used for the dance. lol :D

Blah I feel really out of it.

I'll be turning 18 in a little under two months now. Which means I'll be able to vote! I'll also hopefully be getting my license soon after that. It would be so nice to not have to worry about getting a ride to and from places. :P

• Oct. 7, 2009 - Julian Smith

Posted in Daily Life
So, I just discovered this guy named Julian Smith on Youtube thanks to my friend Beka. He's SO funny! :D He's a Christian and I'm pretty sure he was home schooled. At least I guessed that from his older videos. :)

Check him out! Especially his Kidnapped series and the Hot Kool-aid video! Unfortunately I can't link to them right now, I'm not using the right computer. I would have to use the upstairs computer and I don't know when I'll be using it again. I've been kind of busy canning peaches and stuff. :P Which is why I've been neglecting my blog.

I'll try and do a real post soon. I want to post about memories next. I have several boxes of them. :)

Love y'all! Shay

I am very tired.  Again.  I'm always tired.  And my head hurts.  Again.  *sigh*

BUT, soon it will be Wednesday again!!! :D :D :D

So, anyways, our Church had a picnic outside yesterday.  It was very different while being the same.  :)  I just wonder what the people driving by thought.  :D

I'm going to eventually buy a house (hopefully) near our Church, so I have to come up with 10,000 for the down-payment.  But then I'm going to split it with people.  Forrest and one or two other people.  I think it's a good thing for me to set as a goal.  I don't want to rent.  It's like dumping your money into a black hole.  You don't get anything out of it, other than a place to live for a while.  I want to buy a house, so if and when I get married we can either rent it out, or live in it.  I know my parents would like to have a house that they could rent out to people.  This way I can be that much ahead.  As long as real estate prices don't go up too much... But it's a very good time to be buying a house.  I've been looking at several of the houses for sale around here, and I really like some of them.  Unfortunately most of them would be beyond my price range, there are a couple.  Of course I won't be buying any of these ones.  I have to get a job, make some money and find one or two other people to split it with...

Gah! I am super tired, my head hurts, and I was out late last night. Forrest and I went to a party on Friday. It was a blast. :) At first it was the regular awkward thing. I have to go through that phase at the beginning of every party. Where I just stand in the background and watch what everyone else is doing. But then Benny got there and I talked with him and Wesley about music for a bit. I spent the entire evening talking to people. I think that's an amazing way to spend an evening. It's so much fun when you're in the right crowd.

But yeah. Anyways, I can't think straight! :P I have this headache that I've had for two days now. *sigh* Certain things set it off. Usually getting hit in the head. *hem hem* I hope it's gone tomorrow...

There's this costume party coming up in a couple of weeks. Forrest is going as Tracer Bullet from Calvin and Hobbes, Elisa is going as Wednesday from the Addams Family, and I'm going as a gypsy. So far we have Elisa's dress, Forrest's hat, and my skirt.

I'll post more tomorrow hopefully-Love y'all-Shay

I don't know what to post about... *sigh* What should I post about? Blah.

Ooooo I forgot! Choir started last night!!! wOOt!!! *grins from ear to ear* I just LOVE choir. It's what makes Wednesday my second favorite day of the week. Sunday is my favorite of course. On Wednesday I get to see people, and have piano lessons, and sing in choir. :D And choir makes me very very happy. I love it when we start a song and you can hear it go from a tangled mess to an intertwining mix of the basses, tenors, altos, and sopranos. It's especially good when some of the parts get split up. I can't wait till the next practice. I find Wednesdays altogether agreeable. Especially since I get to go early. I love our Church building. Especially in the fall. :D :D :D I love, love, love choir and I love, love, love our Church building, and I love, love, love my Church family even though they can be a pain at times. :P

But in the fall, when the rain is falling and I'm sitting in the sanctuary or on the porch reading my book the Church is my favorite place ever. It's so familiar and comfortable. On Wednesdays I usually go up at like 4 and then I have two hours to just read, or think, or write in my journal and it's so relaxing.

Gah, I'm feeling hyper and weird. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. :)

So, I should stop typing now. I'm kind of blurry right now. :P :D :) <3

Goodnight ya'll! Love <3 Shay
