Everyone is HAPPY today!!  SORE but happy!! 

We started our day at the White House.  Didn't get to go in, not even inside the gate, but it was beautiful to see!  We walked all the way around it.  T thought it was WAY COOL when we spotted a "guard" in the bushes not 10 feet from us!  I'm sure there were way more than that one that we did not see and I know no one else in our group even saw the one we did.

We saw Vice President Cheney leave his office building.  It was fun seeing all the police go from visiting together to QUICKLY jumping on their motorcycles and escorting the VP away.  The coolest part was seeing the pedestals that go across the street (T was jumping over them just a few min before) SINK into the ground so the cars could drive thru then they popped back up!

Next we went to the National Archives.  We were the 1st group in line and had the whole place to ourselves.  I was amazed at how big the documents are!  I guess I thought they were written on regular size paper.  I have to admit I got a little teary eyed when I actually looked at the signatures of our Forefathers!!  WOW!!  From there it was on to the Smithsonian Museums.  We started at the Air & Space Museum, 2nd was the Natural History Museum next was the American Art Museum then last was the National Portrait Gallery.

After an Italian dinner we went to the Jefferson Memorial.

Mom's feet are KILLING her but today was a very nice day!!
