Community Co-op

Apr. 17, 2008 - We had our Coop planning meeting.....

I can’t believe how fast this first semester went by! We had our planning meeting for the next school year today, and here is what we have come up with:

Summer plans (and we will be adding more park days and field trips as time goes on)-

May 8th- Science fair

May 15th- Jungle Jims field trip. Meet at the church at 9:30 am.

May 22nd- Golden Gate Castle Park- Meet at 11:00 am, pack a lunch

June 5th- Duke park in Troy- Pack a lunch, meet at 11:00

June 12th- Centennial Water Park in Englewood. Bring a lunch and meet at 11:00 am. Also, put the kids in a swimsuit and bring a towel. This is always a big hit, and it’s free!

July 10th - Party at the Coate’s house. Bring food to share.

July 21st- Columbus Zoo field trip. More info to come.

The new school year will start on September 4th. We will be trying a new schedule of 8 weeks on/1 week off with the entire month of December being off. Hopefully this will prevent us from feeling overwhelmed.

Fall quarter will be packed full of fun activities! We have an acting class planned for the first quarter, along with a great new science class, a study on missions and, of course, we will be keeping gym class for the kids. We are also going to have the kids start a newspaper, have someone come in to o ‘school photos’ for the kids and, hopefully, work on getting a yearbook together for the kids!

We are going to try something different with the membership. Instead of paying every week, if you would like, you can just pay for the whole year all at once (or quarterly, or whatever works best for your family). The fee will be $128 a year, no matter which way you want to divide it up.

We are looking forward to a great summer and a fantastic start to the next school year! If you have any suggestions, or any questions, please e-mail me right away! J
