Consider The Lilies - Luke 12:27

Okay, so we already know the van is on the fritz. G will get to really looking at that tomorrow as he has 1 more computer side job to finish up tonight and then he will have time to diagnose the van. At least now, we have a garage for him to work on it in. Less chance of the state bird carrying him away or eating him alive (for those not in WI right now, that would be the mosquito!).
However, tonight G was making dinner and took the quick way to make baked potatoes - he tossed them in the microwave (not my favorite way, but I was not cooking.... ). He went to check on them and asked me why there was no power to the microwave.....Yikes! Apparently, after 12 years, our microwave has given up the ghost. I had put it in the laundry room so I would be less tempted to use it (worked well, especially since we have a gas stove - the gas stove tends to cook faster than the microwave on the stuff I would have used it for). Yeah, well - now I have enforced "no use" of microwave. Any helpful hints you have about using the stove to rewarm things, please share them with me. About the time I started to learn to cook (and no dad, I am not talking about spaghetti soup, lol!), we had moved to OK and gotten a microwave! So, I never learned those rewarming tricks (Karol, you are on the spot here! I know you and dad don't have a microwave! Heehee!).
Wait - we are not yet done for the night. I got out the car seat that the children both used when they were babies. I wanted to see how it fit in the van. It is still in excellent shape, other than the cover needing a cleaning, but when we bought this van, little G was already turned around in the seat (it is a convertible seat). Yeah, well, while it will sit okay and fit (tightly) in the seat - the seatbelts are not long enough to go around it. So, we either have to get a seatbelt extender or get one of those baby bucket style car seat. Just when I thought the only things I would need for the baby was a new changing pad and clothes for the right season for this one, bam - now I need a car seat or seatbelt extender. Sigh. It never ends does it? I know those car seats are not cheap - no idea on the seatbelt extender.
Sooo, we are trusting in God to give us guidance on what to do about that - we know the answer on the microwave - it is a done deal. I guess I can send the last of the microwave popcorn to work with G, lol!
Have a great night! |
