This mama and her two children were coming up our driveway for a visit Saturday afternoon. The one in the back on the right is the mama. The other two are her cubs. We were fascinated watching them, then decided to all go out on the deck and yell at them, then they ran off. Tim later got on his four-wheeler with his shot gun and shot the mama with rubber bullets to scare them some more so they hopefully won't keep coming back. I hope they don't since we're now out of rubber bullets!
Hi! I didn't know you had a nature blog! How cool!!! :) I would have been terrified if I would have seen a bear coming up our drive!!! That's just a little more nature than I can handle! I like the squirrels, birds and bunnies that we have. lol!!! :) We think we are going all out nature wise when we see a duck in the neighborhood. lol!!!
I don't know if that is really cool to have the bears come to your house or not. What a great experience but then again I know that it could be very dangerous, too.
To answer your question about Honeyville, It is between Durango and Silverton. Once you are in Durango it is only 10 miles north on Highway 550.
Their web address is www.honeyvillecolorado.com
I didn't realize that Mesa Verde had so much. We did the bare minimum because of how tired we were. We studied American History last year so it was a late field trip. This year we are learning about the Eastern Hemisphere. OH if only we could go to that part of the world! I too love American History. My kids and I watch Little House on the Prarie almost everyday :)
