Whew!

Posted in WHATEVER

I just finished my biology stuff--my module test and study guide. Man! That takes A LOT of time, AND thinking! I have to do one module test and the study guide for that lesson every week, and it takes most of my week...but this time, I'll be free on Thursday! Yay! The only thing for that I'll have to do tomorrow, is murder my bugs! :( I hate to have to do that...but it's for my insect collection, and I have to have them Friday for school, so if they don't die tonight, I'll have to do something to them tomorrow. :'(

Like my new chat box? My bro got me into wantin' one, so I put it on this morning.

I finished To Kill A Mockingbird either Monday or Tuesday...it's my favorite book! I'm gonna read it again, someday, too! If you haven't read it yet, GET IT! ;P No, really, it's a really good book. :)

My lil bro is asleep on the couch right now...he's not feeling good. :( The other kids are outside, proby goofin' off. Mama's somewhere, proby reading, and well, I'm on the computer. :P I'm listening to Above The Golden State's Reel to Real. I love that song! Did you know they've got a new song? I think; I heard 'em this mornin' on the radio...if they've got a new album coming out, then I've gotta get it! Mama loves that band, so I know she'll want it. :)

Well, I'm gonna go see if I can message or chat somebody, or just do something else to my template...IDK.

"So what, I'm not your average girl!" ~BarlowGirl

Posted in WHATEVER

Got up at about 7:00 this moring, and got ready for "school", then when we got everybody up, we all sang happy birthday to my sis. Then, eventually, the kids got ready, and we left, but were 13 minutes late for class!

I went to biology class, and handed in my module test #3 and my study guide, and they gave me my #2 test, and I got 100! I'm so happy! In lab we looked at an amoeba, a paramecium, and a euglena. There was also a volvox, but I didn't look at that one; I was drawing...but I was supposed to draw what the things look like! I also didn't want to look...for some reason. :P After all that was over, me and Bug went to our ASL class, where we watched a silent signing video, and just goofed off! I love that class! After classes, we went to the skating rink, for the home school skate day, and I skated a long time. It was so fun!

We got home later, after stopping at the grocery store, and I helped sweep out the garage, and then I went to my new favorite reading spot, against a huge tree, in our neighbor's pasture, and I read a lot of To Kill A Mockingbird, for probably more than an hour; I love that book! I can't wait to figure out what's up with Boo--Arthur--Radley, who was putting the gifts in the tree, and anything else that might happen!!!

Gonna go, now, so I can read some more--I think I'm near chapter 9. Me and my cousin are reading it together this week and next, but I need to call her and see where she's gotten to. We were gonna do 4 chapters a day, but I may not be able to stop!

Later.

Trust in the Lord

Psalm 37

1 Do not fret because of evildoers,
Be not envious toward wrongdoers.
2 For they will wither quickly like the grass
And fade like the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in the LORD;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light
And your judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.
8 Cease from anger and forsake wrath;
Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing.
9 For evildoers will be cut off,
But those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land.
10 Yet a little while and the wicked man will be no more;
And you will look carefully for his place and he will not be there.
11 But the humble will inherit the land
And will delight themselves in abundant prosperity.
12 The wicked plots against the righteous
And gnashes at him with his teeth.
13 The Lord laughs at him,
For He sees his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow
To cast down the afflicted and the needy,
To slay those who are upright in conduct.
15 Their sword will enter their own heart,
And their bows will be broken.
16 Better is the little of the righteous
Than the abundance of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked will be broken,
But the LORD sustains the righteous.
18 The LORD knows the days of the blameless,
And their inheritance will be forever.
19 They will not be ashamed in the time of evil,
And in the days of famine they will have abundance.
20 But the wicked will perish;
And the enemies of the LORD will be like the glory of the pastures,
They vanish—like smoke they vanish away.
21 The wicked borrows and does not pay back,
But the righteous is gracious and gives.
22 For those blessed by Him will inherit the land,
But those cursed by Him will be cut off.
23 The steps of a man are established by the LORD,
And He delights in his way.
24 When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong,
Because the LORD is the One who holds his hand.
25 I have been young and now I am old,
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
Or his descendants begging bread.
26 All day long he is gracious and lends,
And his descendants are a blessing.
27 Depart from evil and do good,
So you will abide forever.
28 For the LORD loves justice
And does not forsake His godly ones;
They are preserved forever,
But the descendants of the wicked will be cut off.
29 The righteous will inherit the land
And dwell in it forever.
30 The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom,
And his tongue speaks justice.
31 The law of his God is in his heart;
His steps do not slip.
32 The wicked spies upon the righteous
And seeks to kill him.
33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand
Or let him be condemned when he is judged.
34 Wait for the LORD and keep His way,
And He will exalt you to inherit the land;
When the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
35 I have seen a wicked, violent man
Spreading himself like a luxuriant tree in its native soil.
36 Then he passed away, and lo, he was no more;
I sought for him, but he could not be found.
37 Mark the blameless man, and behold the upright;
For the man of peace will have a posterity.
38 But transgressors will be altogether destroyed;
The posterity of the wicked will be cut off.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD;
He is their strength in time of trouble.
40 The LORD helps them and delivers them;
He delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
Because they take refuge in Him.

Trust in the Lord--He will save us. He promises to protect us and give us what we desire...if we trust in Him, and wait on Him. He is coming, so be ready!

Worship Him in spirit and in truth. Strive to do His will accordingly.

Great commands for us to keep:

v. 1 "Do not fret..."

v. 3 "Trust in the Lord..."

v. 4 "Delight yourself also in the Lord..."

v. 5 "Commit your way to the Lord..."

v. 7 "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him..."

v. 8 "Cease from anger, and forsake wrath..."

v. 27 "Depart from evil, and do good..."

v. 34 "Wait on the Lord, and keep His way..."

v. 37 "Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright..."

And verse 40 says: "And the Lord shall help them and deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust Him."

Hebrews 4:1-16:

1 Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it.
2 For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard.
3 For we who have believed do enter into that rest; even as he hath said, As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he hath said somewhere of the seventh `day' on this wise, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;
5 and in this `place' again, They shall not enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some should enter thereinto, and they to whom the good tidings were before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,
7 he again defineth a certain day, To-day, saying in David so long a time afterward (even as hath been said before), To-day if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts.
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
11 Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.
12 For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
14 Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
15 For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as `we are, yet' without sin.
16 Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help `us' in time of need.

Faith

What Kind of Faith do I Have?

Hebrews 11:1-10

Our faith to God must be a:

1. Worshiping Faith "By faith Abel..."

  • Worships according to God's directions
  • Romans 10:17 -- "Faith comes by hearing..."
  • Philippians 4:18

2. Walking Faith "By faith Enoch..."

  • Transform character and live the way God wants us to
  • Walk with God

3. Working Faith "By faith Noah..."

  • Prepare yourself for God's great day of judgement
  • Am I working?
  • Stay faithful like Noah. Be ready on jugement day.

4. Willing Faith "By faith Abraham..."

  • Obey God's every command and look beyond this present world
  • Be willing to follow God, to do what He tells us to do.

Worship God with faith

Start walking with God, throuhg faith

Be working with your faith

Be willing to be faithful, always

Obedience is the test of your faith.

Our home is in Heaven, with our God.

"Now faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."--Romans 10:17

1 Corinthians 13

"If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love."

I was reading this today, and putting a lot of thought into it. It means so much, and every Christian should live by what it says.

Love...

  • is patient
  • is kind
  • is not jealous
  • does not brag
  • is not arrogant
  • does not act unbecomingly
  • does not seek its own
  • is not provoked
  • does not take into account a wrong suffered
  • does not rejoice in unrighteousness
  • rejoices in the truth
  • never fails
  • is the greatest of all

"...but if I do not have love, I am nothing." -- I Corinthians 13:2

"...but the greatest of these is love." -- I Corinthians 13:13

If I speak with tongues of men and of angels, if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, if I have all faith, enough to remove mountains, but do not have love, it is all worth nothing; I am nothing.

Sometimes I just don't know what to call my entries...

Posted in WHATEVER

It's 90 degrees outside, and very sunny. I like days like this.

We're about to go to town to run a lot of errands...if Dawg'll ever get dressed!!! I'm ready, though! We're gonna go to the Ford place to get our oil changed, and we'll go to Wal*Mart, or somewhere, to get a tent and some air mattresses for camp next week. It's a camp with our home school group, and we're gonna do lots of crafts and stuff, and us high-schoolers are goin on a field trip--but I don't know where.

Well, I'd better go now.

Learning to play the guitar

Posted in WHATEVER

I've been "teaching myself" how to play the guitar. I didn't know it was so fun! My daddy has a book of all the guitar chords, and I've learned G, C, and Am so far. I can play Red Sky now!, except I gotta learn the F chord...every time I play it, it sounds real muffled. Hmm.

Well, I should get goin'. I'm gonna go eat brunch, then we'll all get ready to go to my cousins' house, so Mama and Daddy can go out for their anniversary.

Hey.

Posted in WHATEVER

Hey, y'all. What's up? I'm the only one up right now, 'sides Daddy, who's already gone to work. I thought about cooking breakfast, but I'm no expert at that, and I didn't know what to cook, anyway. Eggs and sausage? I'm not in the mood for bisquits right now. I also thought about making some lemonade; I've been eyeing a bag of lemons we've got on the counter...but I don't know how many lemons to squeese! (I'm used to the Piggley Wiggley, Great Value, and sometimes Kool-Ade packets, making it easy.)

 We went to the beach two days ago...uh...that was...Tuesday. Man! It took me a while to figure it out! :P I'm still sleepy, but I just can't keep the days straight this week! This morning after I woke up, I thought long and hard making sure it was actually Thursday! Then I had to do it again a minute ago. :P Anyway, back to what I was gonna talk about: We went to the beach Tuesday, and swam--I had planned not to, but couldn't resist--and we got SO SO SO SO sunburned! If I raise my eyebrows, my forehead starts stinging. If someone bumps my leg, OUCH! My arms are used to it, so they don't really hurt. Just if I rub 'em on the scratchy couch...

Well, there's not anything else, really, that I can do on this ol' laptop. I could e-mail Bug or Moogie, but they probably won't e-mail me back--right, y'all two?! LOL

Gotta go. Mama's up, so she can tell me how many lemons to use for lemonade. :)

Books--the best passtime is readin' 'em

Have y'all ever read any Nancy Drew books? They're some of my favorite books to read. I got one last night, number 29, called Mystery at the Ski Jump. I'm now on page 46. I've read probably over 30 of the Nancy Drew books, but never the new ones. I don't think they're as good as the old ones. I saw a newer one last night about the mystery of the "flying saucer". Cheesy, if ya ask me! My other favorite books are the Dear America series and the Royal Diaries. The Dear America ones are fictional characters, but real history. I've learned a lot from them. The Royal Diaries are fictional diaries by real princesses or dutchesses. They're real neat, too. I was reading Christy, a novel, but I left it in Daddy's truck several weeks ago, and totally forgot about it, 'til Saturday, Daddy must've remembered it was in there, and gave it to me. He was joking and said he picked up where I left off. I'm over half-way through with it now. It's the longest book I've ever read, but I've stopped reading it for now, 'til I finish the Nancy Drew book. I started on Little Women, but probably yawned all the way through the first few chapters. I quit that one. I could watch the movie over and over and over again, but I don't think I'll ever read the book. Too long and stretched out for me. Bug was reading it a few weeks ago, and she's still working on it. She likes to read too. She also read a Harry Potter book one time! Now that's one I could NEVER read! I don't even like those movies! But I'm not saying Bug's wierd for reading it. It's just not my thing.

It's almost 12:00. Bug should be here in a little over an hour! Yippee! I'm a little bored without her. Well, almost bored. I would be if I didn't have a book to read!

Hmmmmm...what can I run my mouth about now??? Oh! My lil sis is gonna graduate from kindergarten Thursday! Our home school group does a cool graduation every year for the kindergarteners and the seniors. Friday is the high school graduation.

Well, if you've read this far, then way ta go! You've endured me for this long, so read on! Haha! No, you don't have to, cuz it'll probably be useless talkin'!

I heard that the Swine Flu (or now called H1N1 Virus, as not to offend the pigs), that it's Obama's fault for it. They (I don't know who) said that pigs would fly if he ever became president, and, well, swine flew!!! HAHAHA! No, I know that's mean...but it's histerically hilarious!!! (I know, that was redundant! :P)

Why do brothers fuss about who won the game? Mine are right now. Oh. Lego said he's sweating. OBVIOUSLY! (His face is RED!) Dawg is just sittin' on the couch. I can't see his face, but I betcha he's red too. They've been jumping on the trampoline. I did that yesterday. All us kids were jumping. It was real fun. When Bug gets here, maybe everybody'll jump. Last Tuesday they were here, and it was girls vs. boys--trying to get the 3 pieces of chalk. Whew! I can't remember who ended up with the other two, but I grabbed one and ran off with it. :D

Hmmmm...it's 11:47. One more hour, or somethin like that. Hopefully. I guess I'll go now. I don't want to write right now. I'll try to find something to do on the computer, or read some more.

Talk to ya later! Leave some comments [please]!!!

Hmmmmmm...

I'm TOTALLY bored. :( Bug came with her mom, mawmaw, and brother, a few minutes ago, to drop off their milk jugs, but they had to go to town. So, now I'm listening to--can you guess?--Brandon Heath...I can hear it all the way down here, from my room! :P Our God Reigns is on, rightnow, then Red Sky will be on, then You Decide, I'm Not Who I Was, Let's Make It Last, I Will Lay you Down, The Light, and last but NOT LEAST, Beauty Divine. I like that one. That and Don't Get Comfortable are my favorites on that CD, and on the other one, I like Give Me Your Eyes, Wait And See, and, well, I like most of 'em the best! :)

Foot. I gotta go cook somethin'. :( Bah. Humbug! Bye, y'all. I'll write later. :)

Brandon Heath with Dove awards

thumbnail_dove.jpg Brandon Takes Home 3 Dove Awards!
Posted April 24, 2009

Here's the official press release from Brandon's big night!

BRANDON HEATH TAKES HOME THREE MAJOR WINS AT 40TH ANNUAL
GMA DOVE AWARDS INCLUDING MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR

The Christian music industry crowned a new Male Vocalist of the Year last night at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, naming singer-songwriter and radio hitmaker Brandon Heath its honored recipient. Heath’s GRAMMY-nominated hit single “Give Me Your Eyes,” off his sophomore album What If We, was also named Song of the Year, for which Heath received a Dove trophy for co-writing the No. 1 song with Jason Ingram. The live broadcast of the 40th Annual GMA Dove Awards show aired nationwide on the Gospel Music Channel.

Backstage last night Heath said, “I was surprised to receive Male Vocalist of the Year. With this honor, I hope my voice is not just for singing, but for teaching and confessing and questioning my own generation.”

When asked about the Song of the Year win, he added, “It was an honor to share this award with my friend Jason Ingram. I consider myself blessed to be able to write songs that encourage and challenge others. It feels great to know that you are making a difference in the world.”

“Give Me Your Eyes,” spent 14 weeks at No.1 on Billboard’s Hot Christian AC radio chart, and 27 weeks at No. 1 on iTunes Christian Song Chart, during a 7-month run at the top of the download chart following the song’s release in July 2008. To date, the album’s breakout first single continues to lead digitally selling more than 310,000 total downloads of the track across all digital providers. The second single “Wait and See” is now climbing radio and iTunes charts.

A third win for Heath came in the Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song for performing and writing “Give Me Your Eyes.”

Brandon Heath was also one of the few artists selected to perform live on the telecast. Heath performed his giant, award-winning song “Give Me Your Eyes” with a full production supported by a unique step-number by members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Alpha Chi Chapter of Fisk University, and a local competitive female step team.

Here are some additional photos from last night:
