From the Corners of My Heart

Provincial Park Labour Day Monday

On Monday, we went to a local provincial park. I obviously can't say which one; but it didn't have much at it. Like, one trail, an okay beach, and nothing really signifigant in it. It was also pretty small. Thus only one trail. We got there between 11:00am and 12:00pm. I think. Because us kids were pretty bored, we left at about 2:00pm and went to a little village and ate a place called Lighthouse Inn. I don't think I'll do pictures today; maybe I'll do some some other time...but don't count on anything. : ) While we were eating at the restaurant, we had some...interesting conversations, let's call it. The restaurant was on a marina, thus the main topic of conversation. James happened to bring up that Uncle Tony, when he was a teenager, spray painted on a cliff of another provincial park. Dad corrected Mom, who missed the story, "Uncle Tony spray painted on the cleft of a rock." Stephen, who apparently missed the story as well, confirms, "Uncle Tony caught a fish and spray painted it?" Another story Dad told occured several years ago. I was about five or six, and that particular day I was watching, with James, the birds on the deck railing in our backyard. I asked, "I wonder how birds mate?" James, with all the simple wisdom of a three-year-old, answered, "They're just like people--they go to the minister, get married, then they're mated."

At the yardsale, we sold several things. We also bought a few things. One of them was an exercise bike for $25. Stephen testing it out:

Stephen...the bike was such a novelty,

and especially while watching TV--

though Stephen isn't here.

Anyway, that's about it for now; I might not post much Simple Maiden's Daybook, though I am doing it by myself--like, just not putting it on my blog.

Quizzing starts Sunday, and I've only memorized a few verses. Someone look up 1 Corinthians 1:1 - 2 and tell me if I'm right:

(1) Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes (I've dubbed him S. O. S. pad)

(2) To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ--their Lord and ours:

I will admit that I reviewed them a bit before I typed them out.

     Anyway, I have to go...

P. S. Which signature do you think looks better: Emily _ Sue or _ Emily Sue?

About Me

"All I do should be based on a perfect oneness with Him, not a self-willed determination to be godly." (My Utmost For His Highest, by Oswald Chambers). This is my goal in life: to serve God and love Him and all I come in contact with as much as possible. I like music, organizing, Bible quizzing, and hanging out with friends. Feel free to leave comments, and please ask before adding me as a friend. I hope you enjoy the blog of a teenage country-girl-at-heart!
