I've had a good weekend, between quizzing and Bethlehem Live! and church....

Quizzing has beeen going okay. I'm a bit behind in my verses, though. I'm memorizing 1 Corinthians 14. I didn't do too well this morning, though.  : (   Only one question--though I would've gotten two if I had memorized that last verse....But I never got to it at church. Bethany and Josh can be very distracting... : D Anyway, the moral of the story is: always memorize the last verse because it can cost you 20 points.  : (

Bethlehem Live! went well. I was at the church Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, on first shift (6:00pm - 7:30pm). But Saturday night I stayed about a half hour later; but I left not long into the second shift. It was a lot of fun; we basically hide in these hedges, then when a group comes, someone yells, "Get 'em, guys!", and we all run out and run around the group a few times (we're not allowed to touch anyone), until the soldier comes and scares us all away.  : )  Anyhoo, then we go back to the hedges and wait another ten minutes until the next group comes along, then it all happens again. It was fun. The Friday night, though, Bethany wasn't there. But she was there on Thursday and Saturday. Josh came up with a plan that one of us go out into the path and pretend to be sick, and another person pretends to be taking care of him. Then when the people come along, the healthy person goes up to the people and says something along the lines of, "Please, please sir/ma'am, come help me! My friend...he's sick--I don't know what to do.", and so on. So the people come along, and then someone yells, "Get 'em, guys!" and the people jump up and yeah.

I got my hair cut.  : )  It was about five inches above my hips, and now it's an inch below my shoulders (the lady took six inches off), when it's dry.

Anyway, that's all for today...oh, my brothers and father are watching football, and apparently last season, the Detroit Lions were so bad (forgive me if any readers live in Detroit), that someone at one of their games was holding up a sign which read, "JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL". : )  : )  I thought that was pretty funny, since that's from a song by Carry Underwood.

Now I'm done.

I'm involved in a production, I guess you could call it, called "Bethlehem Live!" at our church. There are basically "stations"--the marketplace, Mary telling Elizabeth she is with child--all of it. Last year, they had 2 000 people come! Wow! It runs this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, and I'm going to be thief. *evil laugh* :D I'm excited...what happens is people who come to see it are taken by a guide to each station, and at one station, the thieves lurk *evil laugh again*...in the darkest and most mysterious corners of the churchyard. :D Anyway, we basically will be in the shadows, and the thieves (us) will jump out and try to rob the guide, but soldiers will come and fight us off...and yeah....I'm really excited.

Anyway...I have to go and decorate my friend's quiz book for her. Have a great Sunday afternoon, everyone!

Hi, everyone. I had parent-teacher interviews yesterday, and all my teachers had pretty good reports, thank goodnes. Sorry; I'm not trying to brag...my marks are pretty good too; Geography, 90%; English, 84%; Religion, 94% (talk about an easy credit); and Math, 70% (horrible...).

This night has been a bit weird...James and I (the oldest boy; my younger brother) were a bit...hyper. Crazy. Out of our minds. I was putting some marshmallows on my ice-cream, while James was scooping some more. Anyway, he was pretending so shove me over while whining, "Move over!" So then I'm like, "I will not retaliate. Here; have a marshmallow." So he took it and ate it, then I joked, "Ha, ha! I drugged it." Explaination for erratic behavior: I am tired.

Anyway, I think that's it...have a great weekend, everyone!!

Some of you may or may not know that I'm involved in Bible Quizzing, an...activity, I guess you could call it, for Alliance church youth (other churches do it a bit too, though). We basically memorize Scripture verses in the New Testament and then get quizzed on them weekly at church. Then, every 2 - 3 months, usually, we get together with, like, 15 other churches (at least in my district; about 250 - 300 kids). It's so fun...BeccaTheGreat posted about her quiz meet last weekend or the weekend before (I'm not sure...), and you can read it here. Anyway, I did okay at my quiz meet...the level of success Becca had was really good; like, above-average (in our district). I didn't do nearly as well; eight questions in the morning, which is one less than the most possible, but only one in the afternoon...blah....At quiz meets, we have three quizzes in the afternoon, and three in morning. In our district, we have 15 questions per quiz, but Becca has 20. Quizzing out is when you get three questions right in a quiz (in Becca's district it's four), and if you don't get any wrong during your process of getting three right, you quiz out with a bonus. But you can error out, too--that's getting three wrong. For some people, the rules can be very confusing; they are confusing for me, quite often. This is my second year quizzing. I'll explain about teams; then I'll stop annoying you! Okay, each church divides all their quizzers into teams of five at the most. Usually the smallest teams are three quizzers, but most teams have four. Now, four can quiz at once, but it's always nice to have five on your team because if one team member quizzes out, they can get off the bench (we quiz on individually-seated four-seater benches with seats that go off if you jump) and sub-in the fifth quizzer. So that's your lesson on quizzing for today. Lol....

Here's something I typed up that briefly describes quizzing.

Quizzing is...memorizing five verses at the last minute late Saturday night or on your ten-minute drive to church

Quizzing is...having the best time of you rlife with your friends and people from other Alliance churches

Quizzing is..."sleeping" at billets' houses, getting spoiled with junk food, and, of course, being on the bus to and from quiz meets

Quizzing is...honoring God in everything we do, say, and memorize in effort to glorify Him.

Have a blessed day.

About Me

"All I do should be based on a perfect oneness with Him, not a self-willed determination to be godly." (My Utmost For His Highest, by Oswald Chambers). This is my goal in life: to serve God and love Him and all I come in contact with as much as possible. I like music, organizing, Bible quizzing, and hanging out with friends.
