A HOMEMADE CHRISTMAS!

Sorry I have not been doing this,I just never seem to get on here on Thursdays.

Today I am going to do it.

This year I am going to give a loaf of my pumpkin bread along with some pumpkin seeds to each family I know.

Here is how I make it.

First I start out with a pumpkin.

Then I scrape out the pumpkin guts, and seeds.

Then place the halfs of the pumpkin in a baking dish upside down.Bake at 350 for about an hour or untill the pumpkin meat is mushy.

Then scrape out the meat, place into a bowl, and smash it. This is before I mashed the meat.

Here is after.

Here are the seeds!

I rinse the seeds and let them soak in water, and sea salt, over night is best.

Then I drain the water, sprinkle salt on them, and bake at 100 or 150 degrese for about 1 to 2 hours untill the seads are crunchy. We eat the entire seed, shell and all.

Now for the pumpkin bread. This is not my recipe,I misplaced it but, this recipe is simalar.I will post my reipe when I find it.

Take 3 cups sugar
4 large eggs
2/3 cup vegtable oil
2 cups cooked pumpkin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking soda
3-1/3 cups all-purpose flour

Mix all ingredients together, grease pans or soup cans, that is what I use.Sprinkle a cinnamon sugar mixture in pans, make sure they are coated well.

Bake at 375 for 1 hour or untill done.

The one in the picture has nuts in it.If you want to add nuts about a half a cup is good.

... now I have pumpkin bread baked ...
a little girl once told me "The best gifts are the homemade gifts, because they are made with drops of love"   And it is TRUE!!
