Cozy In The Woods

Starting again...

I'm finally getting back in the routine of walking and eating better! My cardiologist said everything looked/sounded good with my heart but he wants to me to lose 40 lbs. so that I don't get diabetes. The fact that I don't smoke and that nobody in my family actually died from heart disease before 60 was a plus. And if I don't get diabetes my chance of having heart problems will decrease significantly. (which isn't news to me or anyone else)

June 1st was my start point and I got off to a great start walking at VERY least 1 mile a day. Most days though are 2.5 miles and when I'm feeling energetic AND my kids don't complain...we walk 3.8 miles. Today, for lunch, I had 3 boneless/skinless chicken tenders with Mrs. Dash seasoning, a can of salt free green beans with spray on butter (which is free) and a glass of 100% red grape juice which is also VERY good for your heart! For supper I had a small plate of whole wheat spagetti with turkey burger and sauce...also trying to drink more water ...less Iced Tea! (I  Iced Tea!) I did have a small piece of vanilla cake w/ dairy whipped chocolate icing...which was good and I didn' t feel guilty because it was small and it was the only "bad" thing I ate today. (gotta be able to do that or I'd go nuts!!...I have a sweet tooth)

Also, trying to wrap up our school year!! I'm waiting for Timmy's test results in the mail and finishing up some odds 'n' ends with the portfolios before the evaluations...I'm such a procrastinator!!

Your are back? Now I'll have to add you to my blog roll- saves me so much time!!

Glad to see you are back!

We are doing our BIG meal of a LARGE salad with some type of meat (chicken, steak, tuna etc) with lots of sides (dried cranberries, nuts, feta cheese,) anything to make it 'special". It has gone well so far.

It was so good to talk with you Sunday- Jason was upset I didn't wake him--- but he was TIRED....

Hey there...just came across your blog randomly. :) Your post about seeing your cardiologist caught my attention as I also see a cardio (an ep one)... I have had palpatations and tachycardia since I was a teen. Was told I had mild MVP but then years later, told I don't. I still think I do, as I have all of the symptoms that one has with it! Most recently I ended up in the hospital with tachycardia .. was told by my cardio at the time that it was SVT...that's when I went to see an EP cardio. He looked at the ekg strips from when it happened and he doesn't think it was SVT..just sinus tachycardia. My palps (PVC/PAC) have been increasingly worse the past few months, and I'm pretty sure hormones play a part in it. I too try to stay active with exercise as I know it's the best thing for me. I'm trying to lose some weight too. Perhaps we can keep in touch and hold each other accountable? Email me if you are interested ... I don't have a blog on here anymore. My name is Charity and my email address is theptrsnfamily@embarqmail.com would love to hear from you! :)
