Beside the Still Waters

WOW! Has it been THAT long since I blogged??

I cannot believe that I haven't blogged since April. Time flies! We had a great summer...and paid a visit to the Florida area to see Mickey (and Eeyore, my favorite). It was our first trip as a family of 3 instead of 4. We made it through, although there were some sad moments. My dad joined us about 3 days into our visit. He didn't go to the parks with us, but sat by the pool and relaxed. Much needed vacation for ALL of us! As we dive head-long into this school year, I face a new challenge, homeschooling a high schooler. I cannot believe that Mandy is already 14! I pray that I am up to the challenge. I so enjoy being with my kids. They are a blessing to me. She and I are forging through this new terrain together. I'm proud of how she is taking on a new responsibility in her schooling. Deciding what she should study and how it should be done. I am excited to see what the Lord has planned for her! And Scott is just growing and maturing in so many ways. When I think of all that my children have suffered through, I am amazed at how God has given them compassion, peace and comfort that surpasses anything I could want for them. We are studying the election process right now and Mandy is discovering a lot about herself as she discovers the political process. We have all gotten involved in church activities recently, so my time is less and less. Until next time, be blessed! Debbie

Hi,
High school can be a fun time to homeschool. I had a 2 year old and a newborn when I started my son in high school. I made it very interesting. The science experiments were the most fun.
Have a great year.
