Friday Funnies
Josiah (now 3): I need a Band-Aid.
Me: What do you need a Band-Aid for?
Josiah: Cuz 'Cause my blood hurts.
(Alek just "proofread" this for me and did not approve of the way I spelled "cuz". Corrected per his grammatically perfectionist request)

Conversation overheard between Gracie (8) and Gabe (6), whilst they were playing "house", using Josiah's Lightening McQueen tent he got for Christmas as a house. They were both inside the house:
Gracie: You can go out but I have to stay inside.
Gabe: Why can't you go out?
Gracie: Because I have..... **thinking hard**...... a wind allergy. I have a windy allergy. It gets all over my body except for my face.
I give you full permission to use that excuse should you find yourself in the need of one to keep from having to leave your house.

During reading lessons with Millie (newly 5), I will sometimes use the word she just read in a sentence either because it's scripted into the lesson or because she had a hard time reading the word because she did not recognize it. Sometimes she will make up her own sentences immediately after reading the word.
Today after reading the word "eagle", she immediately added, "That's ill-eagle." (um, why is my 5 y/o daughter more familiar with the word illegal than eagle anyway!?)
