Friday Funnies: A List Of Baby Names
I've been bad about remembering to type out the funny things my children say and do these last few weeks. However, I thought I'd add this list that Gabe and Gracie presented with me a couple of days ago.
It seems that while I was in the shower and they were supposed to be working on some school work, they decided our baby needed a name. Like, right then & there! So they brainstormed together and the moment I emerged from the bathroom, they presented me with a list of baby names. My instructions were to read them over and circle my favorites, which I did. And then they wanted me to choose between one of my circled names and make it our new baby's name. Just like that.
Well, I told them as I will tell you that we probably won't announce the baby's name until AFTER the baby arrives. I have a certain family member (**cough** MIL ** cough**) who criticizes every name we suggest no matter how much we love it. That drives me nuts. So- baby's name is going to be a surprise.
However, I was VERY surprised that on Gabe & Gracie's list is a name that I've loved since I was pregnant with Gabriel. In fact, Gabe was our one surprise- the only pregnancy that we did NOT find out who was in there ahead of time. So we had two names picked out for him- a boy's name and a girl's name. If he had been a girl, this would have been his name (and if you're a long time buddy of mine and remember what Gabe's name would've been, don't give it away in the comments!). And I have to say, it's the front runner on our list at this time. We haven't even discussed names with the children so I was surprised to see it there.
Anyway, here is the list I was presented with:
- Juliana
- Julia
- Sarah
- Betsy
- Hannah
- Sanya
- Onya
- Abbigail
- Dovava (I had to ask how they pronounced this. It's: Do VAY va- and I have no idea how they came up with THAT one)
- Grace
- Abbie
- Angel
I'd better not even say which ones I circled. :) I circled four names though. |

I'm a fellow MOMYS and have been looking at your photos for a little while now, thought I should finally comment. Your photos are beautiful! Love coming to your blog to see new ones!
I like your new banner....so cheery especially since it's snowing outside my window!
We named our daughter Juliana, she was born at the end of July and is our eleventh.
