Will be praying for safe travels. I've yet to go to a homeschool conference. There usually aren't any that are local (I'd have to drive to seattle...which is only 3 hours away), but I just haven't done it. Oh, well, maybe someday. I probably should since I'm out looking for a new math and language curriculum for my oldest who is 12. RIght now I'm looking at Teaching Textbooks for math.

Hope you had fun (oh, and learned some good stuff too). Thanks for your tip abt boosting the ISO for action shots; I had not thought of that. My problem was exactly what you desribed-- I'd try a higher shutter speed to stop the action, but the resulting lower aperture made it hard to keep the moving target in focus (esp since my camera has only 3 auto-focus points). I took some shots yesterday of my "3 boys" playing soccer in the yard, and I used a higher ISO than usual- 800, I think. Haven't had time to get them on my computer yet, so I can't say how they turned out. But I figured that, regardless, I should get over here to thank you for your advice before I forget again! I'll (eventually!) let you know how they turned out.

Hello, Hope you had a good time away. Bugging you with a photo question...I took some pictures at last night's flag football game. I took them in RAW format and quite a few didn't transfer to my computer without looking like all the data was scrambled and the colors really off. Have you ever had that happen? I can email you an image if you want. They look fine on my camera but not on the computer. Julie

Tracy- have fun at your conference! They are so wonderfully refreshing! Kirstin- You've got to go to one sometime! Seriously. :) You'll be kicking yourself for not going to one sooner afterwards! Cari- See, they hook you in, don't they!? Juliet- We did have a great time, thank you! BJ- It was fun ;) and I did learn a thing or two while we were there. I'm glad to help! Julie- I don't shoot RAW, just JPEG. I did shoot RAW once (Gracie's b-day pics) and found the post-processing to take too long. That's weird what happened though & I hope you got it figured out! Yvonne- He was a *great* speaker! I'm sorry I didn't write up a blog on the conference. I had planned to but time slipped away. If you visit Leigh's blog (her link is above in this post or check my friend's list), she typed up all of her conference notes. She's a very thorough note-taker! I'm sure you guys will be having some great speakers this July! I tell ya, I miss living so close to a good homeschool conference- this one's a 3 hour drive from us! Love, Alyssa
