More Missions Accomplished!
I've gotten a few more things checked off of my never-ending to-do list! Yay! Here's what I've accomplished:
- My hospital bag is completely packed for baby & I! Well, I just have to remember to bring my camera- it can't sit in my hospital bag till baby arrives. I'd miss it. I highly doubt I'll forget to bring it. It'd be a first if I did.
- All of baby's clothes, burp cloths, cloth diapers, pj's, booties, onesies, sheets and everything else baby related has been washed, folded and sorted!
- I also purchased all of the necessities I was missing- like a new bulb syringe, onesies, baby shampoo and soap, a new car seat, etc.
Now unfortunately, there is one more thing I'd like to have done but can't. It's in regards to The Dresser Situation. The children have ALL outgrown their dressers. While we were at the homeschool conference mid-April, we ordered two HUGE dressers. Seriously. They're 62.25" wide by 51" inches tall. Millie has a hard time finding anything because her clothes are spread over several drawers and shelves in their room. Alek's drawers are falling apart because they're stuffed too full. Gabe's stuff is on shelves in a hutch type dresser that's missing a door (thank you, Alek). His stuff is constantly falling out when he goes to take an item out of it. That dresser's going to the dump. Either Josiah or Gabe will move into Alek's old dresser and Alek and one other boy will get the new dresser. Right now, Josiah's stuff resides in a couple of drawers in our room and a couple of drawers in Gabe's hutch. A mess, I tell you.
So I'd really, really like to have these dressers. Like, now. But they are going to finish them for us (sand/stain) and they gave us a date of June 26 (which happens to be our 15th anniversary!) as to when they could have them done. The baby could be here by then! I really hope they can get them done sooner. Because right now, even though the baby's clothes are all clean and organized, they are being stored in a plastic tub. I don't want them in a plastic tub. I want them in drawers. Especially before she gets here. Baby will get Millie's dresser/changing table and Gracie's dresser once the dressers arrive.
When they do get here, I also need to go through all of the children's clothes & weed out the outgrown and out of season clothes. That's going to be a big job. I *could* do it now but I'd rather just do it all at once. So it's out of my hands. I have to wait. Maybe I should call them. Maybe I should bribe them. Or beg or plead?
Next mission? Put photos from last NOVEMBER to present day, that I just finally ordered, into photo albums. Sound easy? Have you noticed how many pictures I take? Hee-hee! I purchased 5 new photo albums just to be sure I had a place to put them all. And for some reason, Shutterfly sends them all out of order, so I usually have to go through and arrange them in chronological order before putting them into albums. DONE!
Oh, and then there's the fact that NEXT FRIDAY is our LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! But since we are going to continue for 3 weeks into our next school year to give us more time off with the baby, that weekend I will have to clear out the books from this year and replace them with next year's books. I also need to go through the children's binders and gather their best work for a portfolio and have it bound. And I'll have to print out their grades so those can be included in the portfolio......

May. 19, 2008 - Phewph!
Those dressers are awesome! I wish we had room for something like that here. We could use them!
I can't believe you have your bag packed already, I'm horrible at that. I can never believe the baby is actually going to COME :D I even know the date they're going to get here (unless I"m really early) and I always pack the night before. I'm horrible.
