Another Quick Update (really quick this time)

Just two things.

1. This is Alek's foot. We spent 4.5 hours in the ER Saturday night. He was vacuuming for me & while moving a floor lamp, he set it down on his foot and it sliced him pretty good. I think the ER staff was most amazed that an 11 y/o was vacuuming more than any other part of the story! I told them that yes, my children do have chores! And Alek is my best vacuumer.... :) I will take his stitches out on Sunday or Wednesday (depending on how it looks).

2. I AM NOW CONSIDERED FULL TERM!
I'm 37 weeks along today! This pregnancy has gone by SO fast! I really don't feel like she's going to come early but you just never know. I didn't think Josiah would come when he did either! (the day after Christmas- when I was 37 weeks along!) Alek was born @ 37 weeks too but I'd had preterm labor with him starting at 33 weeks. They had just taken me off the Terbutaline a couple of days before he was born!
I am SO ready for her and can't wait to meet her and cuddle her and smell her sweet head and nurse her and kiss her cheeks and hear those little baby grunts and everything else wonderful about a fresh, new baby. :)

I told you it was going to be quick! Gotta do school....

ha ha ha! I've been checkingyour blog even more than I normally do, just waitin' for you to say you're in LABOR! Sorry to hear(and see)Alek hurt himself. Who knew vaccuming could be a dangerous job? There's some adventure in that, huh? Hope it heals up nicely--the stitches are neat and nice. Yow--how can you take those out!?! :)
I'll tell you, the new baby thing really IS all you hope for it to be, isn't it? I feel that way. Kate has been such a joy, every single day. I kiss her constantly and am treasuring every coo, every poopie breastfed diaper, and every time she asks to nurse. I'm thrilled you get to do this again, too. Can't wait to see your sweet new little baby girl. Thanks for the update. Have a great day at school!(you must be going through the summer?)
Love-
Lis

Hmm...looks like Alek is off of vacuuming duty for a little while, huh? Who knew you could get hazardous duty pay for vacuuming?!

Can't wait for the next post.....you know she's coming soon!!!

Not about spending time at the ER, but snuggling a newborn baby. Our 13 month old is better described as a monkey and a drama queen rather than a sweet baby! :)

Ouch! We've had stitches only once in our family-- when Biz was 10, he gouged his lower shin on a concrete wall in our back yard while weed-whacking. So like Alek's, it was a chore-related injury. I suppose there are people out there who would consider it a form of "abuse" for us to make our children do such "dangerous" chores. :-) (I did once know a family whose 1-y/o injured his hand when his 5-y/o brother vacuumed over it. *That* I had a problem with.)

I won't show this post to Fuzz & Spaz, as they hate vacuuming anyway and this would just give them one more excuse to get out of it. Biz & Cheez LOVED vacuuming at that age, btw. (Tho it was many years before we could convince Biz to weed-whack again.)

Wow, 37 weeks! Hooray! Can't wait to see the pictures in a few weeks.

Ouch on the stitches. Looks like a bad place for a cut. Isn't that how it is when you tell people your kids do chores nowadays.

Yeah, on the full term. And, I'm amazed you do school all year round - especially at the end of your pregnancy.

Wow Alyssa! I didn't realize how close you were to delivering your baby girl! What an exciting time! Keep us posted. Sounds like Winter Promise is going well. You're so good to keep going with a new school year until she arrives.
Take care,
Mindy :)
