One Post Per Month Because I'm Efficient Like That

Posted in PhotoBlogging
Yikes. I can't believe I only blogged once in August. It's not that I didn't have anything to say, I just didn't have (or take?) the time to write anything.

We have completed our first week of school. It went well. I used MOTH (Managers of Their Homes) to come up with a pretty tight schedule this year. We all really needed this. I cannot stand getting up early but it's either that or do school till 7pm at night- no thanks. Even Alek, who initially complained about not being able to set the order for his day, admitted that he likes our schedule. Boy, are we busy though.

I will try to be better about updating my blog. I really want to type up what we're using this year (curriculum-wise). Not tonight though. I'm about ready for bed. I do, however, want to post some pics of my children. They are growing way too quickly!

Okay, I'm ready to publicly admit what this child's nickname is. Hoolie. Yep. Like the first part of her name (Juli)anna pronounced like the Spanish J, which sounds like an H. Hehe.

I'm posting this one for Cathy, if she stops by. Doesn't this remind you a bit of Abigail? Julianna was mad at me for putting my foot in front of the cabinet door. She would have liked to have emptied the whole thing. Mean mom. No, her fingers didn't get pinched.

Kenton repaired and painted an outbuilding the other day. Josiah "helped" with the painting. He even decorated our black lab with his handprint for us. We were so thankful.

Actually, here's Kenton's real helper- Gabe. He was out there working all day. This child is buffed.

And a few days before that, Kenton was up on the roof with the leaf blower and giving the roof an anti-moss treatment. You have to do that around here or your roof turns green. But I call this one, "Kenton with his head in the clouds."

Well, my fun's over. Need sleep. Must go to bed. G'night.

ha. i posted 3 or 4 times more often than you did in august. :-)

i hit the "like" button on my google reader. wish blogs had that option. fb is nice like that. "like"is a nice option for when you don't want to have to work hard enough to come up with an intelligent comment but still want to leave *something*. anyway, "bethany likes this". :-)

speaking of fb, i searched for you but your name is way too common. you'll have to look for me, i guess. do you remember my last name? (did you ever know it?) what the heck- how many stalkers are going to read this anyway? user name is bewinkeled.

julianna = 'hoolie". that sounds like something that would evolve at our house, too!

When we first moved to the NW (in 1991) we kept seeing green on a lot of roofs and I didn't know what it was. I love that last photo in the clouds. Your daughter is so cute - great nickname. Did you get all the thunder and lightning yesterday (Sept. 6) like we did? I don't know which way the storm went but it was a doozy - winds gusts to 34 mph on our meter and torrents of rain. Then it all went away.

Hope your school schedule continues to work well for you!

Too cute! I could be much more verbose, if only I wasn't up past my bedtime, which, by the looks of the HSB bloggers online right now, you are too. :)

Good night, Lys~ catch up with you soon!

Allyssa,
You have inspired me for a lifetime to become a better photographer. Someday it's going to happen!

I love the pictures you capture of your children. At course, their so beautiful, they make great "models!"

It's been way too long since I have visited your site. I, too, am guilty of waiting to update my bloge, then I do a marathon of postings.

Alyssa-

I love that picture of her. That's so great. While you have to be sad that she is growing up (and isn't a baby anymore) - you have to just totally adore her too. She is so adorable. And she's at such a cute age.

I'd love to see a screen shot of that schedule of yours. I love looking at other people's schedules. Not sure why. My schedule totally fell apart this week. I stayed up too late a couple nights and my week seemed to be shot. It's really sad how little homeschooling I actually got done...I don't even think I will be counting any of the days toward my yearly schedule. I don't worry about that with Rachey I figure school with her right now is really just about keeping her listening to books, keeping her practicing "reading", and keeping her familiar with numbers. Natalie though...I've got to get my days in with her.

Are you making yourself go to bed before Kenton gets home? That would be a challenging one, I think, especially when you're naturally a night owl.

Sep. 29, 2009 - Oh, no! You are too busy to blog?

Posted by seasonsmom
Well, how about that? Too busy to blog? No way! Didn't you set a nice, juicy time slot in that MOTH schedule? Hehehe! It can't be that hard! A slot that in Bold print states it's your time and no one is allowed to even get a few inches of you? LOL! I was so hoping you'd get on the curriculum tangent. I so need a boost. I am stuck in the dumb charter school and hate it!!!! I need History and Science! Bad!!! And time to teach it too! Great shots of your kiddos, as usual. J crying would have been perfect for the I heart faces blue challenge. Stinker. Of course we know it wasn't her fingers, you didn't really have to clarify that one. We know you got no mean bone in your entire body. The way you love your kiddos is so obvious in your blog. Be blessed, please, expound on your schedule more. I so want to have one but thought MOTh is so rigid. Just taking time to sit down and figure one out seems daunting to me. And believe me I tried. So, my hat off to you!!!
