Greetings Readers!
As part of the TOS Homeschool Crew I was offered the opportunity to review a product from Educaching. It's a curriculum that incorporates GPS technology into the classroom. Of course, I would need a GPS to do this, wouldn't I? I thought I had GPS on my phone. Well, I did. On my old phone (that I lost.) And even that wasn't really GPS, or at least it wasn't the kind of GPS they were looking for.
So, of course, being me, I felt guilty that I had to bow out of the review. To assuage my guilt, I offered to at least tell you about Educaching so you could check it out yourself.
Here's a bit about what it includes from their Facebook page.
• Teacher Training section with "How To's" on using GPS with your students
• 20 detailed Lesson Plans integrating math, science, language arts, social studies, technology, and physical education
• Reproducible worksheets coinciding with each lesson plan
• Acquiring GPS section with simple ideas to obtain GPS devices for your students, including grant writing basics
• Many more creative ideas to take Educaching beyond the basics and involve your students in their community and the world
I was able to watch a video which explained the way the curriculum is set up. It is rather interesting. I've always wanted to try geocaching, and this is very similar, except that it is also educational. I really wish I could have checked it out myself, but, alas, it is not to be.
If you do have a GPS and this sounds fun to you, visit http://www.educaching.com for more information. You can also check out what my fellow crew mates have to say here. Let me know what you think!

Also availiable are kits which include the GPS units.
