We started a recipe notebook for my daughter as well. She also made a church cookbook for the ladies at our church. They submitted recipes, she put it all together and bound it. Then sold it back to them for $5. It was a great way for her to earn money for her flute.
And if your daughter is into cooking, I am giving away Supper Swapping by Susan Thacker today on my blog. She might want to enter that. My 12 year old daughter has made the Rosemary Lemon Chicken a few times. Yummy!

Thank you for the comment you left on my blog. What a great site you have here. I love this idea. This is something that DS will be learning in the not so distant future. LOL about getting her picture taken in front of all the people.

I have started letting Kaitlyn cook sometimes and all I can say is....why did I not think of this before? I have been sort of hesitant to let her plan the meals too...but now I think I may try it. Love the pictures, btw. Someday I will figure out how to get pictures on my blog correctly. :o)

My daughter and I will be completing a 2-year homemaking course starting next year. I'm looking forward to us planning meals and discussing nutrition, etc. Since I scrapbook, we are going to create a recipe book through scrapbooking. I have a book called Scrapbooking with Recipes that we'll use for ideas. It's only $5.99 at Book CloseOuts. I don't think we'll go as elaborate as they do, though. We're going to use the ideas in the book to jazz up our Family Recipe Keeper book that I bought from Marmee's Kitchen. I'll review this book sometime this summer. I'm sure I'll be taking lots of grocery store pictures, too - LOL!
BTW, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving comments - I do appreciate it!
Happy Mother's Day!
Kris
