Reflections of Scriptural Lessons

Ah, So, Co!
Ah, So, Co!
Ah, So, Co!
Ah, So, Co!
Over and over, like a chant!
Hello all! I said in my last post that I would share some of the Biblical applications we learned at the classes from our visit to Spruce Lake and I have found some free time to do just that. This was one of the very first classes after the introductions and I was "very" surprised at the end result. Our group was comprised of approx. 12 children and 5 or 6 adults. We formed a circle and had a few warm up exercises. We then proceeded to learn to play a game called {Ah, So, Co}.
Each person must say Ah and place their hand on their chest then say So then place their hand over their head and upon saying the word Co point to someone in the group and then it is their turn to repeat the chant in the correct order and motions. Sound easy? It's NOT. If you say it wrong or perform the incorrect motions you are OUT and not only that, you get to DISTRACT those who are trying to do it correctly!

We played the game twice and each time either Dave and Annette or I were the last two in the group!! I couldn't believe it! Why is this significant you ask and how do the scriptures apply? Well, as Christians we are always being distracted from our walks. The devil and his gang are ALWAYS competing for our attention. When someone misses and becomes a distraction in the game, the voices get louder and it gets harder and harder to focus on the correct words and motions.. The same holds true in our lives as Christians. As we seek to follow our Savior more each day, the distracting voices get that much louder BUT it *IS* possible to shut them out and keep our eyes focused on Jesus!
Until my next segment of free time!
Be blessed!!

Hi Cathy, It sounds like you are having a busy summer. We are too and I didn't really plan it. My husband's second cousin came up for two weeks for a rather unplanned visit. She didn't stay at our home, but she is 16 and Marissa loves hanging out with her. So, we spent lots of time visiting family. My homeschooling plans for the summer were rather interrupted, but we got back to it yesterday.
[I've discovered muscles that I long forgot that I owned after spending 2 weeks cleaning up the yard!] The first time we do the yard every spring and while shoveling the first snow, I get reacquainted with some muscles. Especially the ones in my hands. OUCH!
Okay, so next time I am having trouble keeping focused on eternity, I will close my eyes and say, "Ah, so, co!" The only person that will know what that means is my virtual friend ~ which means everyone else will think I am a nut! Oh, well, I haven't been accused of being normal for a long time.

Spruce Lake? What state? There's a tiny -- can't really even be called a lake -- lake nearby that I've camped at called Spruce Lake, and it is a favorite place of mine.
Thanks for your comment, and Kudos to your daughter. We are still struggling here, and the obedience is there but the heart is not. : (
I quit the Master Cleanse -- well, put it off -- explained in my latest post! Yes, I have done a liver cleanse once, and it went very well, and I want to do more. I want to get really healthy so bad.
God bless,
Deb
