World Cultures Night
Posted in Todays Homeschooling Adventure
We
enjoyed a wonderful display created by various homeschoolers in our
co-op group. The children each chose a country to research and
create a display documenting everything that they learned. There
were approximately 15 countries on display, Ireland, Indonesia, Germany
and Madagascar to name a few.

Annette chose Italy. She asked her grandfather who is italian, to be a living model in her display. He played the accordian!
I
made a dutch oven filled with spaghetti. I had prepared two pounds of
pasta which I thought was "overdoing" it but everyone ate it up!
We had a very good time learning, eating and fellowshipping!

I love her Italy display and the fact that grandpa was willing to be a live subject.
One of my daughters did a display about our (then) congressman and he sent a representative from his office to our cover-school to represent him. It was awesome and later the congressman invited her to Washington to serve as a House Page. (She didnt get to go but it was still an honor to be invited).

What FUN! I can't wait til April when our hs group does a "Show and Tell" night. It doesn't sound like it'll be nearly as well done as yours, as ours is just a night to display any science/art/whatever project that you've worked on for the year. But, you've given me some great ideas to go with our Geography maps we were planning to put up...
hmmmm... what food goes with Paddle-to-the-sea???

PS I love to sew as well!
