Barefoot Backyard Bookworms

Oct. 1, 2006

Weekend fun!

A couple of weeks ago my 4yo heard about a "see-saw" on a PBS show and asked his Dad to build him one.  We looked at a few pics on the internet and he (Dad) drew up plans and built it Saturday.  It's nifty!! Becuase it's on a pedestal, it can be moved around (like when you need to mow!) and it has 7 different grooves on the bottom of the board so that the sides can be adjusted further to one side to compensate for a heavier or lighter child (or Mom!!!)  We have all really enjoyed it already and it's the type of project that I think will outlast even my grandchildren (if I ever have any :) !).  Oh, how blessed I am to have a man who loves to build almost as much as he loves his children!

Those lucky kids! Looks like something that they'll have a ball with for a long time!
I spent hours on the see saws at my elementary school playground, even through 7th grade!
