Thankful Thursday

Posted in Gratitude

I've just been introduced to the world of blog meme's.  I thought I would try one meme to start with, and what better topic than thankfulness.  It's something I need to be reminded of regularly.  So here are the things I am thankful for today:

- The sun is shining and helps the chilly world outside seem a little more cheerful.  The birds are singing up a storm as if to say, "Be encouraged!  Spring is on its way!"

- This morning, DS initiated practicing his letters and numbers.  He said about 22 of the 26 letters of the alphabet (repeating after me) and counted from 1-10 (also, repeating after me)

- DS had his second day of EI preschool (early intervention) this week and did very well.  This is the first week he has had two classes in a week, and both days went very well.

- While DS was doing well in his class, I sat in the lobby and had time to finish my weekly "homework" for a Beth Moore Bible study class I attend on Thursday evenings.

- The kitchen is moving forward!  The very tall pantry cupboard was brought in last night with help from our kind neighbor.  Upon closer inspection, it was decided that installing the ceramic tile floor would be better to do now (it will raise the pantry up to the ceiling to match the other upper cabinets), and DH and kind neighbor made a trip to Home Depot to get the necessary supplies.

- I was able to share some of the things we have learned through our challenges with DS with another adoptive mom, and she was encouraged.  It is so good to know our struggles are not in vain.

These are some things I am thankful for today.  I hope they are encouraging to you also.
