Update on our health journey
|
I orginally planned on weighing every day. However, I haven't. I forget. I have weighed once since last Wed and I was down a pound, though! :)
I haven't been walking like I should. Or eating like I should. I've been rather bad, in fact. (I had spaghetti and garlic bread for dinner tonight. Ooops. But we bought groceries before we made this decision to eat healthier. And I can't just toss this stuff out. I can't afford that.) And my excuse for walking is the rain. Lots of it. In fact, I'm ever so sick of rain. Today was nice, but we were in town all day. sigh.
I have been making small changes, though. For instance, my in-laws have taken us out a few times and I have gone for the grilled chicken rather than the cheeseburger. And I even subbed a side salad for the fries. So, I'm getting there. Baby steps are better than none!

Hey there!
It seems we are BB buddies! Great to meet you :-)
I should let you know right off the bat that I am taking minute baby steps. Every time I've been gung ho and jumped right in I've failed. So this time I'm taking it super slow and just trying to make enough changes in my life so that I will be living healthfully. My family too!
I see you're trying to weigh yourself daily and you're down a pound? EXCELLENT! I'm already proud of you!!!! :-) I'm weighing once a week. I weighed on Saturday morning, so that will be my official weigh in day!
My first simple steps were to cut out all fast food (I have a post I'll link you to as to why I personally needed to do this) and switched from regular to diet pop. Again, I know the diet pop needs to be switched to water. And I WILL certainly do this! Next week I'll be adding water and walking.
I guess I'm babying myself into this. But my kids and I all need changes. The kids have been doing WONDERFULLY! I'm so proud of them. They are walking every day almost, eating smaller portions, being more active, watching less t.v., and they've each lost a few pounds. My 7 year old son, Jake, went from 99 to 95 pounds and Jennah has lost about 4-5 pounds as well over the last couple of months. The nutritionist said to try and keep them from gaining -- so a loss is just a huge bonus.
I'm a blabbermouth. I'm sorry! Why don't you email me and we'll get the ball rolling? I'm so excited!!!
My email is Sherrydhoneycutt@aol.com
Talk to you soon! Have a healthy day!

Hi there!
I came across your blog randomly and fell to reading your posts. You sound just like me, with the same struggles with weight and the desire to eat healthily. I'm fairly new to homeschool blogger. In fact this is my first experience with all things blogging. I'm from Australia. I don't know about blogging ettiquette or anything, but I 'd like to add you to my list of blogging friends if you don't mind. I'm sure we can encourage each other and pray for each other. I'll have to check out this blubber bloggers too! Catch you later.
