Redheart Yarn

I love Redheart Yarn!  It is especially nice for beginners to work with.  The reason why I recommend it for beginners is because the yarn has a nice twist to it, making it easier to work with.  Some yarns have a very loose twist and it is easy to “catch” a part of the yarn as you are coming up and through the loops on your hook.  Redheart Yarn seldom does this.  Many beginners are anxious to crochet with many of the fun novelty yarns, but they would be less frustrated if they stuck to working with Redheart Yarn - at least for their first handful of projects.

Another way for a beginner to use Redheart Yarn in a fun way is to use it in addition to Fun fur.  Using a big crochet hook, this makes for a project that works up quickly, and has enough body in it for a beginner to be successful with.  Using just Fun fur can be tricky for a beginner because it is difficult to find the stitches to put your hook into.  Using Redheart Yarn gives the project more body and allows the eye to better see the stitches.

My 14 year old daughter frequently uses a Redheart yarn solid color along with a strand of Redheart Yarn variegated.  This makes for interesting combinations and unique items.  If you are a beginner or know a beginning yarn enthusiast, have them try Redheart Yarn first and you’ll see what I mean!  Redheart makes a beautiful array of solid and variegated yarns.

Happy Birthday Chelsea

Today is my daughter, Chelsea's, 14th birthday.  She received some new yarns and is busy at work creating a new poncho pattern called DIVA.  It is so exciting to see her so excited about creating and designing her own original works.  We talked about putting together a whole set of easy single crochet items that we will group together in a collection called "Crochet in a Day".
