We live in some very trying times. Everyone is going through something whether it be big or little things. All of them matter to God and I am so glad we are not left without hope. The best thing I did over 13 years ago was to make Jesus Lord of my life. Don't get me wrong I grew up going to church every Sunday and I was even baptisized as a kid. In all that time I didn't really understand much about God let alone know that I needed a personal relationship with Him. I was missing out on so much and didn't even know it.
After dh and I married we went back and forward from his grandmother's church (where he grew up going) and my mom's church (where I grew up going). We were trying to please both of them but soon found out we couldn't do that no matter how much we tried. After 6 months we found ourselves being miserable with this setup and decided we wanted to find somewhere WE both wanted to be together. A place that WE felt God was leading us to so we could grow in Him and be together. Within a month's time we found a place we BOTH felt led to be. It was there that we discovered we didn't have a PERSONAL relationship with our Heavenly Father. We had just grew up with religion. Religion is man's way to God, not God's way for man to come to Him. It didn't take long for us to understand the difference and we were so much happier.
If you have never made Jesus the Lord of your life I would like to invite you take a moment to reflect on these scriptures. Jesus said in
John 10:9 (NIV) "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved".
John 3:16-18 (KJV)
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Romans 10:9-13 (AMP) says:
9Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.
11The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed.
12[No one] for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek. The same Lord is Lord over all [of us] and He generously bestows His riches upon all who call upon Him [in faith].
13For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved.
If you would now like to receive Jesus as Lord of your life would you please pray this prayer with me:
Dear Heavenly Father,
In the Name of Jesus I present myself to You. I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that do not please you. I have lived my life for myself. I am sorry and I repent now. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to save me. I believe it in my heart, so I say it with my mouth: “Jesus has been raised from the dead.” This moment, I make Him the Lord over my life. Jesus, come into my heart. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life, I give it to you. Help me to live every day in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you. I believe this moment that I am saved, I say it now: “I am reborn. I am a Christian. I am a child of Almighty God."
Amen
Now lift your hands up in the air and give God thanks! I pray you will find you a good Bible teaching church, find a Holy Bible translation you can understand, and grow in God's knowledge, and wisdom as you walk with the Lord daily. |
