CSAHM Home School Newbie

Oct. 25, 2006 - There is just so much.....

To do and plan!  I mean I stumble across all these wonderful resources and I want them all, LOL!  I want to teach Trinity everything there is to learn, but there is only so much time in a school day, not to mention I also have two toddlers that will be homeschooling very soon too.

I guess I find the planning and finding fun and educational things to do the easy part, the hard part is motivating myself to teach her all she needs to know.  I love teaching her all the things that are fun like crafts, Bible, art, etc.  But teaching her launguage and math just seems so boring and a little overwhelming. That is when I feel the need to lean on God more.

Today I was shopping around United Arts of Education and I just found so much stuff, I had to hold back but I did not want to.  I guess I just felt like most of it I didn't have time to use but wish I did!

Well that is all for now.  Thanks for all the wonderful comments and support!

God Bless,
Heather

Welcome to homeschooling Heather! It is a wonderous journey and if I can help, let me know. I homeschool with humor too but I do rely on some curriculum where my expertise is lacking or my organization for that topic is low. Mix n match!

I am enjoying your blog tonight. I, too, have become overwhelmed with such a wonderful group of homeschooling materials. I have been getting the word, "simplify" in my spirit today. I feel convicted to simplify my materials and try to just enjoy the journey. I am just focusing on a great book and tying in the arts, cooking, and such (more specifically Welcome Felicity and the cooking and art books for that time period). Just enjoy the journey and keep it simple is what I feel impressed tonight. I am there with you, in your struggle. God bless you tonight.
