SAY THE ROSARY AS A FAMILY
We say the Rosary most everynight as a family, and I must say, that from the moment that we started doing this, our family life ha been more peaceful, and blessings have literally fallen into our paths. So, I want to share the Rosary with as many people as I can.I am so thankful because even my nonCatholic mother is starting to say it.
Here are the 15 Promises of Our Blessed Mother to those who recite the Rosary daily.

The Fifteen Promises of Mary to Those Who Recite the Rosary
-
Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the rosary, shall receive signal graces.
-
I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the rosary.
-
The rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
-
It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
-
The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the rosary, shall not perish.
-
Whoever shall recite the rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
-
Whoever shall have a true devotion for the rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.
-
Those who are faithful to recite the rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.
-
I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the rosary.
-
The faithful children of the rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven.
-
You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the rosary.
-
All those who propagate the holy rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
-
I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.
-
All who recite the rosary are my children, and brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ.
-
Devotion of my rosary is a great sign of predestination.

Halloween Decorating & Homeschooling!

The Pumpkin faces have dried rice glued to them to look like maggots!!!

Well, for the past 2 days we have been making a Halloween craft to hang up,or tape somewhere throughout the house. I figure that by the week of Halloween, our home will be goulishly pleasing.
I am so proud of my children! My five year old Lissa, is reading on a first grade level now,and my 9 year old Micah, is doing great at her times tables. They are booth doing their writting, and and other subjects very, very well too! I am soooo very proud. In our Catholic education lessons we are learning that you cannot live a full life, and be truely happy if you do not have a bond with God. Without God in our lives we would never have peace, and we would always be looking for something ,more.Thats why we should always tell people about God,and what he does and did for us. (pg 18 in the Catechism of the Catholic Church).
It really is amaizing how much I love homeschooling my children.I was scared, and worried at first but it was like I was guided by the Holy Spirit to keep on learning about it,talking to my husband about it,and praying about it. I knew that it was not about what I wanted,or about what was best for my "me time",but that its about what God wants.I know that oneday I am going to stand before God,and be accountable for how my children were raised, and for what I did and did not teach them. I don't want God to ask me"So, did you have enough ME TIME, did you get enough pedicures, and have enough afternoon coffee outings with your girlfriends?"I want God to say to me, "You did a good job my child, and I am proud of you" It is our job to teach our children how to honor, love, fear, admire, and trust in God.RE classes are not going to do it with their once a week lessons, them going to Mass once a week is great, but its not going to teach them EVERYTHING that they need to be taught by the parents. We should teach our children that prayer works, they should be praying with us everynight, they should be seeing and saying the Rosary everynight with mom and dad. Its one thing to go to Mass, and another thing to LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE. Theese things are taught, they take disipline, and willpower.I am by no means perfect, but I do want to at lest do all I can to live and to teach my children how to live a Christian life.I don't want them to grow up just playing the part, I want them to LIVE it.God is suppouse to be in our homes, and in our everyday lives as well. We are suppouse to do everything in offering of God.Everyday. I want my children to have a passion for God,for praying, for living a holy life.I want them to CRAVE it. Thats taught by the parents, thats taught at home.

HOLY EVENING
Im getting agervated with Protestant people telling me that Halloween is bad,and that your're not a real Christian if your celebrate it!!! Sometimes I just want to scream at how crazy they can be. So, for all of my Protestant friends, this is for YOU. I found this while teaching my daughters that Halloween is NOT bad,and that there is NOTHING wrong with it.Now, what people can sometimes MAKE it out to be..thats a whole different story, and thats totally on THEM. Here you go ladies....
When the Romans conquered the Celts, they added their own touches to the Samhain festival, such as making centerpieces out of apples and nuts for Pomona, the Roman goddess of the orchards. The Romans also bobbed for apples and drank cider—traditions which may sound familiar to you. But where does the Christian aspect of the holiday come into play? In 835, Pope Gregory IV moved the celebration for all the martyrs (later all saints) from May 13 to November 1. The night before became known as All Hallow’s Even or “holy evening.” Eventually the name was shortened to the current Halloween. On November 2, the Church celebrates All Souls Day.
The purpose of these feasts is to remember those who have died, whether they are officially recognized by the Church as saints or not. It is a celebration of the “communion of saints,” which reminds us that the Church is not bound by space or time.
The current custom of going door-to-door to collect treats actually started in Ireland hundreds of years ago. Groups of farmers would go door-to-door collecting food and materials for a village feast and bonfire. Those who gave were promised prosperity; those who did not received threats of bad luck. When an influx of Irish Catholic immigrants came to the United States in the 1800s, the custom of trick-or-treating came with them.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church says that through the communion of saints “a perennial link of charity exists between the faithful who have already reached their heavenly home, those who are expiating their sins in purgatory and those who are still pilgrims on earth. Between them there is, too, an abundant exchange of all good things” (#1475).
So my children and I are getting ready to make some Halloween decorations for our home,we are going to dress up ,we are going to Mass, and we are going to have a GREAT Halloween or should I say, a great Holy Evening!!! Heres the website that I got this information if you'd like to check it out for yourselves. Have a great day,and God Bless you!

WE JUST HAD OUR FIRST....

LATIN lesson lastnight! I am sooo excited, my wonderful husband (whom almost became a PREIST when he was 17,but by praying about it constantly desicded to be a father later) taught my 2 daughters and myself how to say the Sighn of the Cross in Latin lastnight. How beautiful does it sound!!! I hope to be reciting the WHOLE Rosary in Latin very soon with my family. Latin is the Language of the Saints, and the language of our blessed Church.I think that as Homeschooling motehrs there is NO reason why we shouldn't teach our children, and ourselves Latin. We may never beable to conversate in Latin, but we can pray in Latin, and we can learn the Mass in Latin. What a blessing for our little ones, and our families. I am so lucky to have a husband that gets involved with teaching the children and myself. I am also waiting for the public Lib. to get the CDs that I ordered "Teach Yourself Latin". I can't wait for those. You really feel a spiritual " presence" (shall I say the Holy Spirit) when you recite a prayer in Latin. It is the most beautiful language that I have ever herd. Im so blessed to be having such wonderful lessons!
Ladies, moms, homeschooling Catholics. I highly recomend teaching your children some Latin. At lest the main prayers.Latin is our Traditional language, and it is the Language of the Saints. What a great blessing it is to teach our children this language, and to learn with them!

The Value of the Dollar

Today after finishing the lessons for the day,I am going to attempt to start using coupons...and try to buy groceries for a family of 7...with $200.00 (for 2 weeks mind you)...so, the children and I have been clipping and snipping coupons all weekend long. I will start introducing my daughters to the money saving world early in their life so that they will be confident when it comes to saving and spending money when they get older...Lord knows I wish that someone did that for me!!! I think that it is very important for women to spend their husband's earnings wisely, and to save their husbands as much money as they can.I really think that that alone is a great lesson.I think that we should teach our daughters this as they grow in life,in their church,in their families, and in Christ. If my daughters choose to be housewives, and homeschooling mothers~I want them to have the best chance of doing so as they can. I want them to feel confident in their choice, and to know that they CAN do it. I will teach them how to do this the best that I can. With the guidance of our Blessed Mother Mary, I pray.

Our Blessed Mother's Birthday!

Well today is our blessed Mother Mary's birthday, and I am very excited ! First we are going to the 9am Mass at Saint Elizabeth Seton's (a parish Ive never been to~ so Im excited about that),with my Catholic Homeschoolers group~ Lumus Christi. Then we are all doing a walking Rosary as a group,so that is very exciting. I really love these women in this group. It feels so good to be around other Catholic women and to have my children be around other Catholic children. It feels so good to have our lives totally centered around God,and the Church. It feels so good to know that they are not being brainwashed in a government school enviroment, and influenced by things that I don't agree on,and don't want them being taught. But what really feels good is knowing that I can teach them our way.I can teach my children what I want them to learn about creation,God,Mary, the Church, and what the Christian rolls of family members are,and why every roll is so important, and valuable to the family. These things are not taught in any school, and no teacher could have the LOVE for my children that my husband and I have. I love homeschooling, and I love doing what I know is right.I am so thankful to the Holy Spirit for guiding my husband and I to homeschool, and Im so thankful to my husband for giving me the chance, and trust to do it. He was really against it at first. But I kept praying about it,and I asked others to pray about it for me,and all of a sudden he was for it. I know that the Holy Spirit touched both of our lives to homeschool. Thanks Be to God.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Our BLESSED MOTHER MARY!!!!!

This is GREAT!

Well, it is 7:30am,and we have began our lessons of the day.Other children in the neighborgood are just now getting ready to go to the bus stop, for the first day of school, and I can almost hear their mothers yelling at them to hurry up,as they try to shovel food down the children's mouths~ After we are finished with our lessons for the day,we are going to go and enjoy a day at the river, and a picnic.
I am so thankfull that God lead us to homeschool.I am so thankfull that Im no longer going to worry all day what my children are going to be around, what they are going to hear, and what they will see at school. We will be starting Latin Lessons soon, and I can't wait. Our parish will be having a Latin Mass soon,so this is the perfect time to start the children on our churches' beautiful language. I feel so blessed.Praise be to God.

The Best Choice We Ever Made
Well, this is our 3rd week homeschooling, and I have to say that this is the best choice that my husband and I have ever made. The girls arn't fighting as much,we are such a closer family, and I feel so bonded with my children. This year I am using Rod & Staff. They are really great books, and I love the fact that they are Christian based~but being a Catholic, I need more.I will be using Seton starting next year.It will save me a lot of time, because right now,Iam having to go through the Catechism of the Catholic Church and making their lesson plans up from scratch...double work~~~ I am very happy with our choice.I will never go back to government controlled schools again. No one is going to tell me what my child should and shouldn't learn. No one is going to teach my children that God is mearly a myth,a man made creation.NO ONE~~~~~and no one is going to teach my children that family is just a state of life. I hope that more American families start homeschooling. Its a true blessing.
