Chicken Pox!

Well, in retrospect, I think M's tearful meltdown on Wednesday was the beginning of his fever.  He broke out in spots the next day.  He has quite the case, pox where the sun don't shine.  So far B doesn't have them, and our doctor said baby K should be protected by the mother's milk and new born immunities.  I had a very thorough case of them in 1st grade myself.

I thought both boys had had the varricella vacine, but apparently, I waffled on it, because the charts don't mention it.  Oh well.

We've stocked up on library videos, ice cream that's easy to swallow (yep, pox in the mouth), games, laundry quarters.  We will put off the birthday visit to the Boston Children's Museum until both kids are crusted over (assuming B gets  the rash in the first place).

So far, colloidal oatmeal baths really do help with itching, the anti-histamine and analgesic do seem to make a difference, because he gets whiny exactly at the time he can have more meds, and it's not to get meds, because 1 he can't tell time yet, and 2 he hates the flavor.

Hopefully we can get homeschool going again Monday.

Oh, I wish I had found your blog when your kids were still contagious! We live in Southern Maine and have been desperately searching for CP for 3 years. I guess maybe they will make their way up North soon... *SIGH*
