snow is like sand. (?)
When B was about 9 months old, I brought him to a navy beach on Lake Michigan with some friends who were stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base. My friends predicted that he would refuse to go off of the blanket. Sure enough, he'd play with the sand on the towel, he'd go near the water if I carried him, but crawl on this stuff? It was an unauthorized variation on ground that he had not approved, and it did not amuse him.
Today while M and K and I waited for B's flute lesson, I took K out to walk on the snowy drive way. She refused.
She'd play with the snow in my hand, she liked to see it falling, she cooed about the pretty trees (at least that's my interpretation of her song) But walk on that stuff? Momma, what are you thinking?
Well, B begs for beach days now, so I'm sure K will be a snow bunny some day.
