My youngest daughter turns five today. Five has always seemed like such a significant age to me. On the day that I turned five I remember laying in my bed and counting my fingers, 1..2..3..4..5. I don't even remember my party, but I remember doing this. I was amazed that I took up a whole hand! Now that it's Eilidh's turn to take up a whole hand, I'm no less amazed. You can never predict how much one person will impact your life.
Eilidh (rhymes with wily, and for good reason) is our second born and is very different than her siblings. They are more reserved in their adventures whereas she always jumps first (often literally) and then decides if it was a good idea or not. That is her in the booger avatar. The girl has pluck.
When I think about it, Eilidh alone is reason to
homeschool. I honestly don't think a classroom teacher would know what to do with her. Children in classrooms are suppose to sit still. To Eilidh, being still is what you do only after a full day of twirling, bounding, and rebounding. Stillness is what comes after you have given the day one-hundred and fifty percent; after you've earned it. My suspicions are that if she were in school, she would quickly be placed on the 'to medicate' list and I would resent the person who suggested it. God created her with a purpose and a plan and she may very well need this trait someday.
Happy Birthday sweet Eilidh. I love and enjoy everything about you. Thanks for always being up for new things, new friends, new foods. Thanks for your smiles and willing ness to do what's right, because it is right. I'm excited to watch you grow. May God give you wisdom in equal measure to your enthusiasm and spunk!
Keep alert. Be firm in your faith. Stay brave and strong. Show love in everything you do. 1 Corinthians 16: 13-14
AND ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO TO SNeaK IN ONE MORE PICTURE.............

Awww-I got teary eyed reading this post. She is beautiful and sounds beautiful on the inside, too. Reading your description of you reminded me of my Jonah, who would also be on the "to be medicated" lsit. Aren't you so glad they don't know about that list? I am!
Happy Birthday to your beautiful girl! Holly

God created her with a purpose and a plan and she may very well need this trait someday.
There are things in our kids which need "curbing" in some circumstances, or at least a training in how to best use those traits on occassion, but I agree that the differences in my children are placed there by the Lord and I need to help them learn how to use them for His glory. Thanks for the reminder!

Happy Birthday sweet girl! It amazes me when my kids reach these milestones that I remember, like you counting your fingers....almost dumbfounding if that makes sense. Like where did the time go??

What a beautiful girl that is a whopping 5 years old! That is definitely a milestone in my book as well.
Homeschooling is a very big blessing.

What a precious girl!!! Yep, God does have something amazing for high energy girls. I was one. I believe that God's gift of high energy is one of the things that enables me to keep up with our 3 boys while pregnant with our 4th boy or 1st girl... due Aug. 3rd.
Blessings always,
:)Michelle
