Some Assembly Required....

Jan. 13, 2008 - We Interupt This Life to Bring You a Post..

Emily, Emily, Emily over at The Learning Never Stops had such a fantastic idea for a contest that I had to play:

"The contest? Post a picture of yourself as a baby or young child. (gradeschool pictures are fine) And I don't have to know you for you to join. What a way to meet, btw!

Hilarious and embarassing pictures will get extra credit . Pictures w/ you near macrame... an extra 10 points...60's and 70's hairdo's with FLAIR, flips or (gasp) ringlets....extra 20 points....."

Fun, No? Not only is it such a fun idea, it is also an assignment perfect for the length for my teeny-weeny little attention span and might even give me the focus I need to start blogging again.

Let us start at the beginning, shall we?

This is my mom a couple months after she had me. Totally not fair, right? Well at least my kitchen is groovier than hers.

I like the picture above because it is one of the few I have of my mom and dad together.

This is me with my worm, Olly, who did not like to be ridden. He used to like throwing me off backwards. Maybe he was just embarrassed to be seen with me dressed like that.

I have always thought what I had to say was important, can't you tell?

This would be the first day of the first grade, given the hairstyle. I'm pretty sure my undies would have been showing all over the playground that day in that dress.

Okay, only two more. Promise!

I just had to include this one of my eighth birthday at McDonald's because in it I am wearing my most favorite shirt of pretty much all time. It has Radar's teddy bear on it! It was to commemorate their last season on the air. It said 'M*A*S*H 4077' on his hat and 'Good Bye-Fairwell-Amen' on the bottom. I so wish I still had that shirt...not that I would try and wear it or anything.

And, por fin, I had to include this beauty of a shot because it pretty much sums up what I thought about school from the fifth grade on. I do try really hard not to tell my young public schooled relatives that I think school is a waste of time, so I should likely keep this one out of circulation.

Thanks Emily for sharing the fun-even if I did sneak in last -minute-like.

The competition is fierce- the rest of you should go see for yourself

Fun!! =D

I love the teddy tee!

My mom weighed 89 pounds for YEARS. What's up with the skinny moms? They didn't do gyms and they ate. I'm just so jealous! =P

Oh my goodness! That Radar's teddy tee would be worth something now, wouldn't it?! Priceless! I love the knee socks! I was searching for a picture of me in knee socks and a kilt but couldn't find it. Yeah, and what IS up with those skinny moms? My mom weighed 105 after 5 kids. Although, she does look rather skeletal and weak in some pictures. I think she needed a cupcake or three.

no way....your MASH t-shirt was your favorite? My favorite was your hair in it. Totally 70's/80's hair.
thanks for playing.

Oh...you were a cutie pie! I must say I had some awful child pics. which I would have posted had a certain child in my family not lost my baby album. Yep...every one of them gone. I'm hoping I might still run across it in the attic someday.

Anyway, don't worry about your dry blogging spell...it'll come back soon. It always does.

Blessings,
Hallie

Funny! I have SO loved looking at everyone's pictures! WOW! You gotta love the 70's!

BTW, I totally agree that "school" (not learning) is a waste of time.
