Sep. 1, 2005 - New daily Calendar quotes from Thomas Kinkade

I have this beautiful daily calendar of Thomas Kinkade drawings (the painter of light! check out his great website at www.thomaskinkade.com of course!) that have wonderful sayings on them every day. I couldn't think of a better way to get me to actually read them (sometimes I even forget to tear the page off for the next day!) than by posting them here. For our first year of homeschooling, my son took his learn to draw art program from Alpha Omega. It was tough, but worthwhile.

Today's message pictures a gently flowing stream with a little bit of rapids (just enough to show how our lives have bumps and curves, but it all gets smoothed out in the end) and colorful flowers on each side of it that says, "I believe a radiant, light-filled tomorrow should be normal to the expreience of living." I think it is poignant because he says "believe" instead of "wish". If only we could believe more and stop doubting what God can do for us! I love reading other blogs that tell about trials and at the end of the story give God the glory for sustaining them through it all. That is what our faith is all about! If we can't do that, then we lack it severely. So just pray and trust that He is the answer, the Light at the end of our tunnel, our Sustainer, Redeemer, Friend. You can count on Him!

Thanks so much for your comment about my son's writing. He was so excited to see that someone had read his work! I'm really enjoying this curriculum so far too, and have learned a lot just in one chapter. I can't wait till we do our model solar system next week. Your library day sounds like a great idea; I would love to have something like that in our area.
