Jun. 22, 2005 - Too much to do this summer???

Swimming, park day, VBS, baseball camp...who has time to homeschool during the summer? I hear so many people are doing it, but when do they find the time? How do you motivate your children to do it? I think it's harder having a public school child as well (my daughter will be a senior next year). So my son (9) that I homeschool wants to be "out of school" like her.

I have work for my son to do, but he doesn't want to do it. I fear if I make him that he will not learn anything and he will despise homeschool. He did well during the school year and technically doesn't need summer school, he deserves to take a break. But...isn't that what homeschooling is supposed to be about, learning all the time? Someone please set me straight!

Jun. 21, 2005 - I feel sooooo old!

...because I'm trying to start something that it looks like everyone else has already figured out!

Is it by osmosis or what? How does one get up and running on the internet?

I want to have a URL to link this to. I'm so confused about domain names and hosting and building pages and blah, blah, blah! Can someone help this 40 year old (obviously has-been) find the simple answers to these questions???
