magazines that I would recommend to anyone with children is The Old Schoolhouse Magazine. Even if you are not an *official* homeschooler, this magazine has wonderful tips and ideas for every parent, grandparent, and anyone and everyone who works with children. Lessons, encouragement, practical advice--it's all there. Wonderful resouce listings? Yep, they're there, too!
As most folks know, I don't officially homeschool my grandchildren--they attend a public school. However, they do get quite a bit of teaching from this Nanna in an *unofficial* capacity, and their public school teachers have told me many times how they can tell this in the classroom setting. I follow up with what the teachers are doing, and then usually go a step further, and this has really enhanced their education. How do I do this? Where did I get the *idea* to do this? Why, from The Old Schoolhouse Magazine!
Try it out for yourself, and you will find that not only are the children in your life being better equipped in the many learning experiences they have, but you'll learn quite a lot yourself! You'll find links to the magazine in the post below this one, and also by clicking on the magazine cover in my sidebar to your right.
Enjoy!
