Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.  Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.  I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. 

 ~I Corinthians 10:12-15

What a blessing these verses are!  All of us, at one point or another in our lives, are faced wtih temptation of one sort or another.  It may be anything from whether or not to have that piece of pie to something such as the lust for pornography.  Temptation abounds in this world today and is attempting to lure us into its grip each and every day.

However, we can take hope with the promises given us in these scriptures!  We are assured that any lust that afflicts us has been, and continues to be, experienced by many others.  But our Lord is ever faithful, and He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able to endure.  All we need do is call out to Him, and He will strengthen us and give us that extra bit of willpower we need to overcome whatever is tempting us.  He makes the way of escape--all we need do is ask Him to show it to us.

Praying that each and every day you live is filled wtih the wisdom, the strength, and the peace of our Lord!
